Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco dropped their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, and Taylor Swift was quick to respond. Swift gave a shout-out to Selena's album on her Instagram story. Notably, this story comes after a 100-day streak since the Blank Space songstress shared anything on Instagram. In her story, Taylor Swift shared the album's title card and wrote:

"I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH. OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD."

Selena also re-posted Taylor's story and wrote,

"Love you, Tay."

Gomez's album with her fiance was released on March 21, 2025. It debuted with over 14 million streams on Spotify.

I Said I Love You First marks Selena's fourth studio album while Benny Blanco has previously worked with artists like Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber.

In the meantime, the internet was set ablaze as soon as Swift posted the story! Social media users joked that Taylor was helping Selena so the album doesn't end up failing. Here are some of the fan reactions:

Social media reacts to Taylor Swift's comment on Selena Gomez's album

Some users believe that Taylor Swift didn't even listen to the album before hyping it up on Instagram. Others teased that she had to post about it because she thought her friend's album would fail, even referring to it as "charity work."

Users even went on to say that Selena Gomez's fans can finally cease complaining about Taylor not endorsing her album.

A user @shadowcatverse jokingly stated:

"She hasn't even heard it 🙄"

Another user @erynsbloodline added:

"She knew the album was flopping hard she had to help 💀"

A user @demismonarchy hilariously noted:

"Taylor is so sweet for doing charity work."

One user @cowboylikezain noted:

"selenators can now stop crying over taylor “not supporting the album” on her social media."

Some believe that the album has already flopped, referencing the fact that Taylor Swift did not post until late in the day—maybe after checking the streaming numbers—before she posted about it.

Others even joked that she only granted her "blessings" because the album was doing poorly and needed a boost.

A user @themluvvash declared:

"the album already flopped 😭"

A user @Popmvsics pointed out:

"The way she waited until after streaming day ended 😭"

Yet another user @shortnsourtimes added:

"she had to give tayblessings after that horrendous debut."

Meanwhile, two separate fandoms were at odds with each other. Some said of course Taylor Swift would enjoy a "mediocre" album, while others retorted that if she professed to enjoy something as simple as oxygen, humans would suddenly change the way they breathed.

A user @positionsmafiaa mentioned:

"ofc she loves a mediocre album im crine."

While, another user @aryasingh3333 noted:

"Taylor could say “I love oxygen” and half the planet would start breathing differently."

Despite the fan wars, both Swift and Gomez have publically supported one another and expressed mutual admiration on different occasions.
