“Spider-Man vs what now?” – Fans laugh as the first look at Spider-Man vs Godzilla Issue #1 drops

It’s no doubt that Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s biggest stars, if not the biggest. No matter how many costumes, versions, and variations the superhero comes out in, fans happily embrace them all. And after fighting formidable opponents like Dr. Octopus, Venom, and Green Goblin, it looks like Marvel is about to pit the web-slinger against one of the biggest, baddest monsters in history—Godzilla!

Marvel recently unveiled the first look at Issue 1 of Spider-Man vs. Godzilla, written by Joe Kelly with art by Nick Bradshaw, slated for release on April 30th. The reveal has taken fans by surprise, as they never expected Spider-Man to go up against the monster of all monsters.

Hilarious Fan Reactions

While fans were excited about Spider-Man taking on Godzilla in the upcoming comic, many were amused and questioned how he could even beat a creature like that, quickly taking to social media to share their hilarious reactions.

Fans never expected to see Spider-Man and Godzilla mentioned in the same sentence. After all, who would’ve imagined the web-slinger taking on a 1000-foot-tall monster?!

"Would've preferred Hulk vs. Godzilla," another said.

As this fan believes, perhaps a more fair matchup would be Hulk vs Godzilla, since Hulk is one of the few Marvel heroes who can match its strength. Spider-Man, at best, could just make Godzilla trip with his webs.

Woah, as if fighting Godzilla wasn’t impossible enough, this user just imagined an even crazier scenario—Godzilla getting controlled by the Symbiote! If that happens, Spider-Man might as well retire and move to a different planet.

Uncle Ben might have told Peter Parker that with great power comes great responsibility, but even he would’ve told him not to take that statement seriously while fighting Godzilla. But hey, it looks like Peter has no choice now but to honor his uncle’s words!

Even some die-hard Spider-Man fans are having a hard time believing he could take on Godzilla, thinking the monster would just squash him like a bug. Ouch!
