IShowSpeed came 'this' close to making internet history last week, as he almost scored his first goal in a football match for charity.

But, in true Speed fashion, the energy he showcased in reaction to the miss was hilarious, thus leading to a meme fest on social media.

The streamer was among the social media personalities selected to participate in the 2025 Match for Hope, an event held in Qatar.

Speed’s previous stints on the football pitch have come in the form of exhibition matches for charity and in almost all of these games, his presence on the field ended up creating viral social media moments.

As soon as videos from the game started making their way on to social media, a user (@Harafcy) reacted by stating:

"Speed coulda done better"

The inclusion of Speed in a high-profile match is always a recipe for peak entertainment, especially when he tries to sprint past defenders, or celebrates an offside goal like he won the World Cup.

This latest viral moment by the massive Cristiano Ronaldo fan has social media buzzing with reactions.

Despite all the memes and reactions to this viral moment, one thing is clear - whether Speed actually scores or just gives us legendary almost moments, the internet wins either way.

Did he score? No. Did he entertain millions? Absolutely. When Speed is involved it's simple fun. And who knows? Maybe next year's adventure will be a complete redemption arc. Either way, we'll be watching.
