Solo Leveling Season 2 has just wrapped up, and it has taken the world by storm. The season finale ended with Sung Jin-woo and his shadow finally conquering the battlefield at Jeju Island, and in the process, solidifying his status as the most powerful hunter in South Korea. The audience watching at home already knew that, but the rest of the anime world is only now coming to grips with the reality.

Fans react hilariously as Solo Leveling tops the Crunchyroll charts

Solo Leveling has been steadily gathering up steam over the past couple of years, but it launched a Hail Mary with the conclusion of season 2, knocking everyone out of the park. The anime has now scaled the unscalable—becoming the first anime to reach 700k ratings on Crunchyroll. The finale itself was a spectacle for the ages as the Shadow Monarch obliterated everything in his path, and even made a few friends (Beru) along the way.

Sung Jin-woo didn't just level up in the anime, he has leveled up the entire anime game, which is nothing to be scoffed at. The internet is ablaze with hot takes, memes, and reactions celebrating the absurdity of the situation in which the Shadow Monarch beat heavyweights such as One Piece, Demon Slayer, JJK, and Attack on Titan to the punch:

"It's peak," exclaimed one enthusiastic fan (via X / @Angelica_Reed1)
"Solo Leveling already cooking One Piece and it didn't need 20 years to do it," quipped another (via X / @StrayExe)
"700k people had a good night’s sleep," joked another fan (via X / @Hakuji_03)

It is hilarious to think that 700k people watched Solo Leveling and found it relatable enough to give it the full five-star experience.

Ever since the news dropped, the internet has been flooded with jokes comparing his growth curve to stock market crashes, exponential graphs, and even Pokémon evolution charts. Sung Jin-woo's growth wasn't just remarkable, it was epic as he helped the anime win the race at a canter, beating many legacy anime in the process.

Now he sits smugly on his throne while Luffy and Tanjiro weep in the background! Fans of other animes caught wind of the situation, and they tied themselves in knots trying to discredit Solo Leveling, which was hilarious to see:

"All this just proves recency bias because AOT is better than all these," claimed one fan (via X / @MAC7XP)
"Lol humanity is a joke," commented another (via X / @Faleaart)
"None of these words mean anything to me," remarked another user (via X / @Wrestle_G)

To be fair, the last remark does sound like something Jin-woo would say after having beaten him to a pulp!

While the stats are impressive, they’ve sparked debates aplenty on social media as fans of other anime claimed foul play. One fan (@fleeting52066) hilariously claimed that fans were at fault for watching Crunchyroll:

"What's more surprising is that people still use crunchy roll"

They can at least find solace in the fact that Jin-woo will never find the One Piece!

With 700,000 ratings under its belt, Solo Leveling has cemented its place as a cultural juggernaut. The ratings and reviews prove that anime isn’t just a passing trend; it’s become a cultural phenomenon. With season 3 yet to come, fans can look forward to Sung Jin-woo claiming the 1 million ratings mark soon!

Solo Leveling is a testament to what dedication and power a good glow-up can do for you. We are eagerly awaiting the new season of the franchise!
