On January 19, after week-long online discussions and debates, the 'Oracle' shut down temporarily and TikTok was no longer available in the USA. While TikTok is available again now after a 14-hour ban, many influencers were left emotional during the ban period.
TikTok ban was put into effect in America with an automated message informing users that it would temporarily stop its operations.
The message revealed "TikTok has been legally banned. This means that you will not be able to use TikTok from now on. However, we are lucky that after taking power, the newly elected President Trump has indicated that he will work with us to find a solution to restore TikTok."
Several users burst into tears and many expressed resentment by stating how they won't forgive the government. These videos sparked mixed reactions once posted on X.

Posting yourself crying (via YSLONIKA/X)
Posting a video of yourself during a meltdown is insane! That's the confidence many of us need. Many are surprised that creators are crying uncontrollably over an app getting banned, especially when alternatives like RedNote and Instagram exist too.
Don't switch to X (via YSLONIKA/X)
Wait, does that mean X would have to shelter TikTok refugees? They have already migrated to Xiaohongshu and Instagram for their daily dose of content. Brace yourself, as you can no longer gatekeep X. They're here already, maybe hiding behind the comments.
Losing community (via bodysnguts/X)
By community, they meant hopping into trends and binging rants about first-world problems. The question is, can a community be weak enough to be disrupted by a ban? Several netizens have felt that the outburst was a bit over the top.

It is indeed shocking to witness adult men and women losing composure over the TikTok ban. Maybe this was the much-needed break and a sign for creators should step out of their comfort zone and experience adulthood.
Real jobs (via Mr_Gentleman25/X)
Is creating content a real job? Before, you come at me, let's clarify that regardless of the hard work is insignificant in the eyes of many. Content creation is definitely not a conventional job, thus causing skepticism. Nonetheless, like the rest, this road less traveled shall fit into the 'real' category with time.

Charlie D'Amelio is regarded as one of the most popular TikToker of recent times. She has 157.1M followers on TikTok, yet with fame, comes criticism as well. Not the best time to be a TikTok influencer. First, they lose their job and now the haters are here.
TikTok ban lifted after 14 hours
As Donald Trump takes office on January 20, Monday, he pledged that the app will be back! Following this, TikTok issued a statement saying,
"We are grateful to President Trump. As a result of President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the United States!"
However, even after the announcement, Google Play and the Apple Store do not permit new downloads.
