Mikey Madison seems to be on top of the world right now. After a brief appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the 26-year-old went on to star in several notable films such as Scream, Scream 6, and, most recently, Anora — a role that earned her the Oscar for Best Actress at the 97th Academy Awards this year.

Since then, the actress has been in high demand and has reportedly received a massive offer from one of the biggest franchises in the world — Star Wars!

Mikey Madison was recently rumored to have been offered a starring role in the upcoming Star Wars film directed by Shawn Levy, which is currently set to feature Ryan Gosling. However, latest reports reveal that Madison has turned down the role, for reasons that remain unclear. The news has sparked plenty of curiosity among fans, all wondering what might have led her to pass on such a massive opportunity.

Hilarious fan reactions

Fans were taken by surprise after reports emerged that Mikey Madison has reportedly turned down a lead role in Star Wars, and wasted no time taking to the internet to share their hilarious thoughts and wild theories.

"She is too big for Star Wars," @te_Neil_et wrote.

As this user points out, Mikey Madison has clearly become quite the big deal after her Oscar-winning performance in Anora — maybe even too big for a galaxy far, far away!

"She sensed a disturbance in the script," joked another fan, @debayo_xx.

Could it be that Mikey Madison turned down the role because she sensed a disturbance in the script — much like how the Jedi and Sith once sensed a disturbance in the Force?

Fans have been speculating about which role Mikey Madison might have been approached for in Star Wars. A Jedi or Ryan Gosling’s love interest seemed like the obvious picks, but what if it was for a new Darth Vader?

"Disney wants Star Wars to be like the Jeffersons, but in outer-space, and much less funny," @CanuckFactCheck pointed.

Fans are still trying to make sense of Disney’s vision for Star Wars. One user even joked that it feels like they’re aiming for an outer space version of the popular sitcom, The Jeffersons... just way less funny.

"Imagine being so good that you can pass an offer like this," commented another user @ariellaabruno

Talk about being so good that you can afford to reject Star Wars. Now that’s every actor’s dream come true!

Mikey Madison reportedly turning down a major role in Star Wars has definitely left fans wondering. And now there’s a new burning question on everyone’s minds — did she have other commitments, or was the script really that bad?
