Marvel said, let's go around and paint the town red. By town, they mean the Spider-Man franchise, and by red, they mean adding Sadie Sink to the cast. If the rumors are to be believed, then everyone's favorite redhead after Elton John, Sadie Sink, is joining the cast of Spider-Man 4, but it's still not known which character she will play.
Some say she will play the original redhead of the Spidey universe, MJ, while others are hoping that she plays Firestar. But the most bizarre rumor that has spread is that she will play the X-Men diva Jean Grey in the franchise. How Jean Grey fits into this universe and what she is doing there are just some of the questions that come with the news.
There can't be any Stranger Things than this going on in the MCU. Imagine Spider-Man bursting into a burning building to look for survivors, only to find Jean Grey sitting there calmly saying I am fire and life incarnate! Now and forever, I am Phoenix. It will make him quit the Avengers and stay in school for good.
Fan reaction to rumors of Sadie Sink playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man 4
Sadie Sink might play Jean Grey in the next MCU film, and that film is not an X-Men sequel or a Dark Phoenix reboot. Rumors swirling around suggest that she might be seen controlling the forces of the universe while Peter Parker is busy saving MJ from falling, again.
If this is true, then Spidey is in big trouble. If he thought Dr Strange's spell made his life difficult, wait till he faces the mother of all mutants, Jean Grey. Fans are not quite convinced about the X-Men/Spider-Man merger and have expressed their confusion and discomfort with some hilarious memes. Here are some of them that will make you chuckle.
User @debayo_xx still feels the Max's pain, and it shows in this comment,
"marvel saw sadie sink and said "let's ruin her life in another franchise"
Another user, @itsbloodymarie, asked a decent question,
"...is there a shortage of redheads or something in Hollywood?"
One more user, @TheBongressman, decided to call out the new trend in Hollywood,
"That's not possible. Everyone knows that only black people play red-headed comic book characters."
User @LukeODoherty6 was the only one who asked the right question,
"Why would you want or need Jean Grey in a spider-man movie what sense does that make?"

If the rumors are true, Sadie Sink won't be the only Stranger Things cast member to swap the upside down for a superhero costume. David Harbour also played the Red Guardian in the Black Widow TV series. It seems like the Stranger Things cast found an upside-down portal from Hawkins straight to Marvel Studios.
