Jeremy Allen White will provide the voice of Rotta the Hutt, Jabba the Hutt's son, in the new film The Mandalorian and Grogu. Rotta is returning after decades, but he's different. He's no longer the little slimy baby—now he's a large, powerful fighter with enormous muscles.
However, the Star Wars fans are in a frenzy over the update.
Rotta the Hutt first appeared as a baby in the 2008 film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was called "Stinky." He was the cause of a rescue mission by Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.
Since then, Rotta appeared only a handful of times and was never a significant character in the Star Wars series.
While the details of the film are under wraps, a lot of fans believe Rotta could now be the leader of the Hutt Cartel after Jabba passed away.
Notably, the film takes place many years after Return of the Jedi. Rotta could have become a gladiator due to the power struggle between Tatooine's crime syndicates, as we saw in The Book of Boba Fett.
Meanwhile, there are fans who are confused as well as intrigued. Fans are laughing over the fact that something slimy, such as Rotta, gets to possess enormous muscles.
Because Jabba was always recognized as slow as well as being lazy, this new, tough, gladiator look of Rotta is unexpected.
Fans also happen to be entertained because Jeremy Allen White is just doing the voice for the character, which translates to all those big biceps will be CGI-created.
Jabba’s son Rotta is now a muscular gladiator in The Mandalorian & Grogu — internet in disbelief
When word got out that Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta is returning, not as the fat, slow slug we know, but as a fit gladiator with bulging muscles, the internet was stunned.
From probably double-checking everything to dropping memes, social media is in shock like never before.
One user, @echoghi, posted in disbelief:
"come again?"
Another user went on to react with Jemima Kirke’s 'What the hell, sure' meme.
A user @iDragonHeartz went on to express their confusion, stating:
"Lol I'm not even sure how this is possible, Jabba cold barely move in the films 😆"
Fans' skepticism is fairly prevalent. Some fans believe that this is an elaborate prank. Others, however, believe that Disney is clearly making fun of us with this update.
As it happens, no one can picture a slimy creature with biceps.
Meanwhile, a user @betscrables probably thought this was some kind of a joke:
"are you kidding meeeee."
Yet another user, @theheroXvillian, stated:
"🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 Disney is extremely trolling with this type of stuff."
A user dropped a perfect "Bro what" meme.
In the meantime, several people hilariously assumed that the page that was updating the news was a parody account since there was no possibility that this was real.
However, it appears like Star Wars is moving forward with this development, sending fans into a frenzy.
A user @DontSmileDean thought that the post came from some parody account, before realising that this is true after all:
"these parody discussing film accounts are hilarious! ....oh no."
Another user, @TheGwilliam, expressed the same sentiment, mentioning:
"Had to make sure this wasn't parody page."
To some fans, the update is really funny. Users have resorted to making jokes about how this gladiator makeover will be introduced in the movie.
A user @selinameyersgf commented:
"i’m sorry…excuse me?"
Another user @barelyyalex highlighted:
"Seeing “with massive biceps” in a headline is so funny."
One user, @_littlerobin_1, jokingly stated:
"Jabba’s son about to walk in like, "yes I was a tadpole, and yes I lift now." 😎💪"
While we will have to wait for the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu to see how this all turns out, till then, we assume fans are actually going to create enormous theories about its possibility.
