Asmongold, the Twitch legend, recently explained why he has never signed a streaming contract - even if someone held a cool $1 billion in his face. It turns out that his passion for 'freedom' is greater than even the most jaw-dropping paychecks.

It is refreshing to see somebody who will say 'no thanks. I'm going to pass on the billion-dollar contract', while all of us are out here trying to figure out if we could sell our soul for half that. Asmongold said:
"I never pursued a contract like that because I didn’t like feeling committed to streaming. Like, to me, freedom in my life is the most important thing and there is not a dollar amount that you can put on that number that would be worth it to me...That is more valuable to me than any amount of money, and so that’s why I didn’t sign the contract and I didn’t do it. It was that and the ads."
