Rumor has it that a Negan skin is coming to Fortnite soon. So yes, we can finally look forward to the bat-wielding villain-turned-antihero launching enemies into outer space! Scheduled for release on April 4, 2025, Fortnite is looking to complete The Walking Dead ensemble by adding everyone's favorite foul-mouthed psychopath, having already introduced Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Daryl Dixon to the game.
Fans react hilariously as Negan's skin is set to be launched in Fortnite
With his devil-may-care attitude and sharp one-liners, Negan quickly captured the hearts of fans when he first appeared in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead franchise. In a hilarious turn of events, he is reportedly set to appear in Fortnite along with his thirsty barbed-wire bat, Lucille. The news took the internet by storm as fans lost their minds at the absurdity of imagining Negan swinging his bat in a battle royale.
Fans came up with all sorts of theories anticipating his arrival, debating everything from his emotes to his pickaxe and even speculating which other versions of Negan might be included besides the base version. The image of the menacing psychopath horrifically bashing Glenn's skull into the ground is a memory that still lingers in the minds of The Walking Dead fans, and they demanded that Glenn be brought back from the dead too:
"PLEASE WE NEED A GLENN SKIN TOO", pleaded one fan (via X / @nyxjeanz)
Even with Glenn getting some payback for what Negan did to him in the latest Invincible Season 3, fans have still not completely forgiven the maniac. Now they want Glenn to get justice in Fortnite's version of reality too! With Fortnite recently exploring post-apocalyptic themes, bringing Glenn back from the dead would sit very well with fans and make perfect sense.
One fan (@PresentDust9925) took the incoming requests up a notch and even suggested that Fortnite add Carl:
"They should add Carl too"
Everybody knows that Carl was probably the only person in The Walking Dead for whom Negan had a soft spot, seeing as he didn't bash his skull into the ground too. But if we're going to add Carl to the game, why not Maggie, Carol, Ezekiel, baby Glenn, and the rest of the zombies too? Then we could have our own little The Walking Dead castle within Fortnite!
While some fans were busy making demands, others seemed thrilled at the prospect and took to X to express their excitement:
"Fortnite just became The Walking Dead simulator, and I’m living for it", said one fan (via X / @NUJRANk)
Negan's theatrics were as much a part of his persona as his swagger and baseball bat. The recent update on the potential crossover had fans buzzing on social media as they had some very specific requests in mind:
"Let's hope we get Lucille as his pickaxe", wondered one fan (via X / @CatZman09)
"They HAVE to add his whistle as an emote", demanded another (via X / @NiphilimCry)
Of course, Negan gets to keep his terrifyingly beautiful whistle and his beloved wife's ghost-bat, Lucille! We'd wager that Epic Games knows better than to make changes to the beloved antihero's persona—because that's what makes him unique.
Another noteworthy rumor is that a shotgun named after Ezekiel's tiger, Shiva, is also coming to Fortnite. One fan (@NUJRANk) hilariously quipped that had it existed in Season 3, the post-apocalyptic zombie franchise wouldn't have lasted a whopping 11 seasons:
"The Shiva Shotgun?! If Carol had this, the show would’ve ended in Season 3"
With the Shiva Shotgun also making its entry into the Fortnite world, we can't help but wonder if it will roar and leap into action every time it's pumped and fired.
As the rumor mill churns out the latest hilarious news, we can't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Fans are losing their minds at the prospect of Negan parachuting out of the Fortnite Battle Bus before launching mayhem on the battlefield. Imagine the chaos he would unleash—the Fortnite lobby would never recover from the sheer madness of Negan breakdancing with a bat!
