In what can only be described as an Oops moment, Blizzard decided to make an Overwatch 2 paid skin free, resulting in fans demanding refunds on their payments. What's even more bizarre is that this happened a day after its release. A planned move or a technical glitch? Well, no one will ever know.

If you are confused about what the hassle is all about, then let's take a quick recap. On January 29, Blizzard announced the Overwatch 2 Spotlight Event next month, and everyone cheered. It then announced the support hero Lucio's Cyber DJ Legendary skin will be available as a free Twitch drop in February. Sounds generous, right? Wrong.

The problem is that Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ Legendary skin was released in the stores a day before the announcement. So, the news was an absolute nightmare for those who bought it.

Blizzard had removed the skin from the stores, which was earlier released as a part of the Cyber Field bundle along with the Widowmaker bundle, costing a total of 2800 in the game and $28 in the real world. As per the latest reports, Blizzard will be issuing refunds to the players who bought it.

Overwatch 2 will now be remembered for the Skin-Gate scam in 2025. History will record how fans were duped into buying an upgraded older skin by the makers, and then it was made free the very next day. Why. Just because they felt like it, leaving many fans distraught and out of $28.
