Grammy-award-winning artist Leon Thomas recently announced a collab with Chris Brown for his superhit song 'Mutt'. As the release date for the song is drawing near, the excitement for the song is at a fever pitch. It has stirred up a whirlwind of memes and jokes on social media and fans are awaiting the release of the song eagerly.
Fans LOL as Leon Thomas collab with Chris Brown releases tomorrow
Leon and Chris have a history together: they have previously collaborated on tracks like "Something New, so it isn't like the guys are total strangers. It's also fair to say that Under The Influence-famed star (pun not intended) has had his fair share of controversies over his illustrious career and the internet is a place that rarely forgives and forgets.
So when the news dropped of Leon Thomas shaking a leg with the self-proclaimed King of R&B, social media erupted with memes as the internet was instantly divided into two camps: pro-Chris Brown and against. He really holds the fans together in the palm of his hands! The reactions amongst fans ranged from sheer joy to playful disbelief, as fans trolled Chris Brown mercilessly:
"One way ticket back to the khia asylum…", predicted one fan (via X / @arxhiiie)
"We don’t need any auto tune voice on this master piece", joked another fan (via X / @AntXclusive)
Chris Brown has been in the industry for a long time and his legions of fans didn't let the trolling go unanswered. They defended their idol stoutly as they came out all guns blazing:
"You cancel culture folks are annoying af. Go touch grass", declared one user (via X / @HoesAndTacos)
"I guarantee there are so many closeted Chris Brown listeners & lovers who come online to be fake out raged when he drop a record then blast his music when no one is around", quipped another fan (via X / @thebrownbeautyy)
While the war raged on between the anti and pro-Chris camps, another user (@stormchasrrr) introduced another analogy and flipped the script on its head:
"Ooooo gen Z finna be mad as hell"
The remix drops tomorrow, but Gen Z might just stick to the original. Who knew that a remix song would start the Gen Z vs Millenials debate all over again? Not us. Hats off to the fan for drifting the conversation in a different direction altogether, really!
While the fandoms were transformed into a warzone, one fan, while dodging the madcap scenes, came up with a prediction so real that it was almost funny:
"Watch it sound like a** and watch him win a Grammy anyway" joked the fan (via X / @luldopamine)
While Leon Thomas' fans are worried Brown’s presence will turn the soulful track into just another generic hit, it is surely going to be entertaining to watch him collab with Chris Brown in his new album. Everyone loves drama and the fandoms are notoriously tough to please. We can't wait for the release for the release of the song which is bound to cause even more mayhem on the timeline!
