A woman on TikTok who goes by the name Resilient Jenkins has gone viral on social media.
The reason behind it is a video clip that was posted earlier by her on her TikTok handle, @jenkinsresiliencecrew. The clip shows a family of six sharing only one bedroom in a small apartment. She is often seen posting videos of her home which she shares with her husband and kids.
Jenkins is a mother of six children and pregnant with her seventh child. Recently, she posted a clip on how she has decided to convert their dining area into an extra bedroom. She captioned it,
“You do what you Gotta do in small space living, especially when you have a larger family.”
How are the people reacting to Resilient Jenkins’ situation on TikTok?
People were quick to judge Resilient Jenkins when she announced that she would be having a seventh child as she still struggles to manage space for her six children.
The internet slammed the couple for being selfish when it comes to prioritizing their kids.
“All jokes aside, this is incredibly selfish of the parents. Growing up, me and my two other siblings always had our own room. Why keep having children and forcing them to live like this???” a user wrote on X.
Some judged the couple for sleeping in comfy beds while the kids slept on foam mattresses.
“I was in property mgmt for 17 years. This is against occupancy standards and typically shouldn’t even be allowed. It’s not just “judgement”. These rules are in place for a reason,” one person commented.
Others called them out for planning these many kids when they were financially unstable.
Another person said that the so-called bedroom has no curtains and looks untidy which is nothing more than child abuse.
“Nothing there looks clean and-or tidy. They have no curtains. This is child abuse. Stop having so many kids!!!!” they wrote.
“Birth control is free literally free. There is no reason at all for you to have 6 children in a 1 bedroom apartment…” wrote another person.
Few also criticized the parents who adopt such a lifestyle, especially large families.
What does the video say?
In the video, Jenkins explains how soon they will be welcoming a seventh child in their lives. She continues that as their kids are growing older, they need to make extra space for their living.
She adds on TikTok that despite being judged constantly, she and her husband are grateful for having a roof over their head.
She further says that if a person has experienced enough in their lives they won’t pass on their judgment easily. She ends her video on a note that she has seen enough in the past three years. So, she teaches their children to look after one another and keep praying for better growth, as per her TikTok.
Resilient Jenkins often shares posts on her TikTok account which has gained 84K followers and 926.3K likes.
