The third installment in the Now You See Me franchise won't be titled Now You See Me 3—because that would just be too on the nose. Instead, it will be titled Now You See Me: Now You Don't. The title may either make the movie tank or be a stroke of genius marketing that draws in a ton of fans.
But the question remains: Do we see them, or do we not? And if we saw them, what did we see because, apparently, we didn't see them? Anyway...
The news was revealed at CinemaCon 2025 by Lionsgate. The movie will be directed by Ruben Fleischer and will be released on November 14, 2025.
Other than the jokes and humor, the title Now You See Me: Now You Don't is a smart reference to the magician's catchphrase, which perfectly suits the theme of deception and tricks of the movie.
Leave it to the internet to roast all! Users soon began mocking the aspect that there are three of these films. Others mocked the title by coming up with their own funny twists for it.
Meanwhile, others were not sure whether it was an April Fool's prank or an actual update. Some even wished it was a hoax due to the timing of the April Fools, but they knew in their hearts that it very much might be the truth.
Social media reacts to the announcement of Now You See Me: Now You Don't
People grilled the title of the new film, and some were wondering how come there were three films for this series. Some were even sure that it was an April Fool's trick.
A user @SlurmKaos hilariously said:
"5 will be called 'NOW YOU SEE ME NOW YOU DONT HAHA NANA BOO BOO.'"
Another user @ImJustMeAbel mentioned:
"No better day to announce than on April 1st 😭 but I know it’s real."
A user @LORDCOSMOERA poked fun, saying:
"Wait there’s 3 of them now???😂😂😂"
Fans are debating whether this is actually an April Fool's joke or not. Many are praying it's only a joke, stating they cannot believe this to be true.
A user, @Lpool_5843, straight-up served a roast, mentioning:
"This would be a horrible April Fools joke. Is there actually a 3rd movie and Isla Fisher is coming back for this one too?"
A user, @KaliMist22, commented in disbelief:
"Can't decide if this is an April Fools prank or not. 😑😑😑"
Another user @cook_ees said:
"the world needs LESS Jesse Eisenberg, NOT MORE."
Some of the users replied using memes, and others questioned the numerous plot holes in the films. Some users even came up with John Cena's "You can't see me" joke, while others came up with their own humorous spin on the title.
A user went on to drop a meme that probably roasted the whole franchise.
One user @PhantomsodaJr declared:
"The twists on these films are so full of plot holes it makes my head hurt…"
A user @zCloudtech humorously stated:
"Is it John Cena in this poster, I don't see him."
A user @PlushblueepEric reacted with their own fun twist, saying:
"Should’ve been called 'Now You 3 Me'."
And if all this wasn't enough, Lionsgate also announced that they are working on a fourth installment. Although no title has been announced yet, it'll probably continue the same tradition as Now You See Me: Now You Don't... and perhaps even Now You Never Will. Who knows?
