Faran Tahir, who played Raza in the 2008 Iron Man movie, is back in the MCU after 17 long years with the Vision Quest. The Vision Quest series has left fans between confusion, surprise, and a wee bit of good old-fashioned humor. Reactions flow in the range between excited curiosity and pure bewilderment.

The Vision Quest series: Raza

The whole new series of Vision Quest comes to Disney+, in which the most popular android, Vision by Paul Bettany, took over. It is set right after everything that went down in WandaVision and further from the events of Avengers: Endgame. It tells the story of how Vision gained his memory and identity back. It's filled with mystery, action, and some good old Marvel drama, of course.

But the real kicker: the show will also feature some of the deep, dark characters of the MCU, including the return of Raza, a character not seen since his Iron Man debut.

For those who may have forgotten, Raza was one of the terrorists who kidnapped Tony Stark in the first Iron Man movie. Played by Faran Tahir, a villain with a grudge against Stark and played a minor yet memorable role in the film.

Now, after years of MCU expansion and evolving storylines, Raza is back for Vision Quest. For whatever reason, nobody seems to understand why this character is being brought back, but for sure, it is raising some eyebrows.

Of course, to the more die-hard Marvel fans, the return of a character like Raza's might be something of a nostalgia trip. It's been 17 years since Iron Man first hit theaters, and a great deal has changed for the MCU. Characters have evolved, timelines have shifted, and entire universes have collapsed. Yet, somehow, Marvel has decided that Raza deserves another shot. But why?

Fans on social media have been quick to express their thoughts on Faran Tahir’s return as Raza and let’s just say, the reactions are a chef’s kiss in terms of honesty.

One fan humorously wrote, “Oh… why?” which sums up the confusion many feel about this return.

Others are less than thrilled, with comments like, “I honestly forgot this show was still happening,”

and “Nobody asked for this 😭” — a sentiment echoed by multiple Marvel enthusiasts.

The surprise of Raza’s resurrection also has fans scratching their heads, with one person commenting, “I thought he was dead.” Well, guess what? Apparently not, because he’s back and ready to stir up trouble in the Vision Quest series.

There’s also the universal feeling of being lost in the complex MCU timeline. One fan quipped, “Is anyone else completely lost as to what’s going on in this universe?”

The MCU’s constant shifts in plot and character arcs are enough to leave even the most dedicated viewers wondering how Raza fits into all of this.

Perhaps the most iconic response comes from a fan asking, “Where’s this bozo been hiding for twenty years?”

It's a fair question, as the character has been nowhere to be found since his debut in Iron Man. Fans can't help but laugh at the idea of Raza popping up after all this time like, "Guess who's back?

As for what the audience had to say about Raza, one best stated their summary with this utterance: "He's that villain who just will not stay dead."

Such is basically one view most have upon knowledge of Raza's return, some kind of thing where he was just such a villain that it couldn't stay away every time Marvel attempted to keep him six feet under.

Whether it was a brilliant move to bring Raza back into the mix or a head-scratcher in an already crowded universe, Faran Tahir's return to the MCU in Vision Quest is unquestionably highly hyped.

Fans are confused, amused, and just flat-out curious as to how in the world Raza will figure into the series, and frankly, so are we. One thing is for sure: Vision Quest got a whole lot more interesting, not necessarily in the way Marvel planned, either.

Well, it seems like most have forgotten him, but he's back, baby. Let's just hope the next time he "dies," it's for real.
