The announcement, posted on Instagram with a tiny foot pic and a wooden sign, practically melted the internet. Brittany captioned the post, "Golden Raye Mahomes - 1/12/25," sprinkling in some celebratory emojis for good measure.
The family is a champion of the unique baby name game. They have a 3-year-old daughter named Sterling Skye and a 2-year-old son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon III. Now, with Golden Raye, they've got their own precious metal trifecta.

Curious how they came up with these standout monikers? Well, Brittany spilled the tea on their naming inspirations in some earlier interviews.
Sterling’s name was a nod to Brittany’s college dog, Steel. Originally, that name was meant for a second dog, but Sterling took it and ran. This was revealed by Brittany in 2023 on an Instagram Q&A story.
"I got Steel in college and named him that. We then got our second dog and was gonna name her Sterling because it went with Steel perfect. Then I said no, I want that to be my daughter's name, so then we came up with Silver to go with Steel."
As for Bronze, the element thing kinda clicked, and they went on with the same. Brittany was quoted as saying by People magazine:
"Then having a boy and him being Patrick Mahomes III, Bronze was just meant to be and went perfect."
This brainwave came from Patrick’s brother, Jackson Mahomes, as revealed by the Chiefs' QB back in a 2022 press conference, per TMZ.
“My brother Jackson, whenever we were trying to find something that was a little unique and different, he said, 'What about Bronze? It fits perfectly with Sterling,'. So, we went with that.”
Now, they are wrapping up their trio’s theme in a golden bow. Her entrance into the world couldn’t have been better timed. She arrived during Patrick’s bye week in the NFL playoffs, giving the family some well-deserved chill time before the next big game.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes relationship
The love story of Patrick and Brittany began way back in Whitehouse High School in Texas. They just started as mere friends, but that friendship escalated to another level in the year 2012 when Patrick was a sophomore and Brittany a junior.
