Rich people are known to do some of the weirdest and most amusing things with their money, and one such incident has recently boggled the minds of users on the internet. The infamous artwork by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, known as "Comedian," which features a banana duct-taped to a wall, just sold for a whopping $6.2 million.

The artwork was bought by billionaire Justin Sun, founder of the emerging crypto platform "TRON," who also paid for the artwork in cryptocurrency. What's more? He ate the banana shortly after. The incident has left the internet startled and amused, as most can't fully process what they just read.

Hilarious reactions by users

Ever since the news broke, users have been asking hilarious questions, such as how a $4-5 dollar art installation involving hardly any effort could sell for millions and why Justin Sun ate it shortly after buying it. Questions were raised about whether art is getting too subjective beyond our understanding, among many others. Let's take a look at some of the funniest reactions by users.

1 - Hungry billionaires

Billionaires can have very expensive tastes; some can pay millions just for a "taste," as this user hilariously points out.

2 - Inflation

This user seems highly pessimistic, as she believes that a banana, along with other such groceries, could actually cost millions of dollars one day, thanks to inflation.

3 - Laundering money?

A very amusing take on the purchase, indeed. What if this simple artwork was purchased for $6.2 million as a way of laundering money?

4 - So much money for a banana?

Most people are just unable to digest why someone could pay so much for a banana. Well, billionaire Justin Sun seems to have digested it pretty well!

5 - Screaming rich!

You know you've got a lot of money in the bank when you pay $6.2 million for a banana duct taped to a wall and eat it shortly after, as this user points out.

6 - Bad deal

If all Justin Sun wanted was a banana, he didn't have to spend millions on buying just one. This user would have given him tons of bananas for the same money.

7 - Inspiring more "artwork"

This user just got a million-dollar idea: to tape a penny against a wall and have it sell for the same price as the banana.

Billionaires can often be beyond our comprehension, as they can do some of the strangest things with their money. But this recent purchase of a banana duct-taped to a wall poses an interesting question - is this really modern art?
