The internet has a habit of making random things go viral, and this time, it is a fictional derpy wolf called Moon Moon.
Competing with the popular derpy dog, Doge, the Moon Moon meme was birthed out of a Tumblr post about wolf names.
The 'Moon Moon' meme originally came into existence 7 years ago, credited to a Tumblr user called Kitchiki. Sharing his results from a "What's Your Wolf Name" post, Kitchiki took to Tumblr to rant about the hilarious stupidity of the result if your initials happen to be "P.W."
The post went viral almost immediately, garnering over 158,000 notes in two weeks. It currently has over 800,000 notes. The viral post left the Tumblr community in splits as several users on the platform created their own renditions of a severely derpy wolf that they collectively named 'Moon Moon'.
The derpy yet adorable wolf is often seen being taught basic things by his pack, and the results are hilarious.
