Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan, a 19-year-old healthcare worker, has been charged with exploiting a person with a disability after authorities caught wind of her viral video where she can be seen dancing over the patient's head.

Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan, who is from Loganville, Georgia, can be seen “dancing in a provocative manner” over the individual, who is seated and visibly incapacitated, while sporting scrubs and a stethoscope. She has now reportedly been charged with a felony. The Loganville Police Department revealed that not long after the now-deleted video went viral, they launched a formal investigation.

Here's all we know about the case against Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan

In a statement, the Loganville Police Department said:

"On January 23, 2025, the Loganville Police Department was made aware of a ‘viral’ video posted to social media depicting a female dancing in a provocative manner above a disabled person who was seated in a chair. A criminal investigation was initiated, which resulted in the execution this morning of both a search warrant and arrest warrant for the female.”

Fox affiliate WAGA reported on Tuesday that scores who watched the video called up the authorities to report the same, noting that Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan also uploaded a video of herself dancing over the man while he was seated in a bathtub. Loganville Police Chief Dick Lowry told WSB, an affiliate of ABC, that the video of the man sitting in the chair alone was enough to charge her:

“When I watched it, disgusted is the only word I know,” Lowry said. “He is disabled, and then making the video and posting it to social media for your own benefit is the exploitation of that person.”

Not long after, Koiyan was taken to the Walton County Jail to be detained as police debated whether or not to charge her for the second video as well.

“We’re looking at both of them,” Lowry said.

In the days since she uploaded the video, Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan was subjected to mounting backlash. As reported by The Daily Mail, she responded to it with the following statement, noting that the "angle" of the camera made the video questionable:

"It's not what it looks like, trust and believe, angles play a part,' she said. 'A lot of people want to comment about sexual assault, rape, all type of dumb s**t. Trust and believe, he is verbal and I got proof,' she added. "He looks very aware and comfortable to me so y'all need to stop jumping to conclusions. I do see how it looks but trust me it's not that."

Law and Crime has reported that the alleged victim has long been checked in on by officials, and is safe from any danger.
