Noah Lyles has come to the forefront of attention following some comments he made on the Beyond the Records podcast about turning IShowSpeed into an Olympic champion. In a clip circulating on X, when MrBeast nudges Lyles to "do something with Speed again," Lyles claims he might just train "this man to be the Olympic champion."
The reigning Olympic champion himself added that the YouTuber would have to put his streaming on pause for a while, as he would have to "sacrifice a lot" for the games. Nonetheless, while everyone in the clip may have reacted enthusiastically, users in the online sphere also echoed the sentiments. Here's how one user reacted:
"We here for it."
Even more, chimed in to cheer Lyles on:
"that will be sick," one observer stated.
"I mean he can definitely be one but the question is why. He already got fame and money, no need to go through all that training for that unless he’s doing it just to improve himself," another pointed out.
"speed could honestly do it. legit top athelete potential," someone else claimed.
"He definitely has the athletic ability to do it. IMO," yet another echoed.
Seemingly everyone online was all for Noah Lyles putting time and effort into training IShowSpeed:
"I think Speed can actually do it… he is a freak of nature athlete," someone cheered on.
"First he raced him, then he was scared of him and didn’t want to do a rematch, now this?" a naysayer questioned.
"Speed’s gonna get an olympic gold medal before GTA 6," a third person declared.
"Speed runs faster than that dude," another opined.
On the face of it, the consensus stands as follows: Almost everyone wants to see IShowSpeed become an Olympic champion.
Noah Lyles says IShowSpeed training under his wing could be a good thing: Here's why
During the podcast, Noah Lyles gave his two cents on what it would be like if IShowSpeed began training:
"I think that we could potentially get him to the trials for sure he would definitely have to sacrifice a lot though. Like a lot of time he probably has for streaming and his way of living, he’s going to be so strict.”
He went on, noting that the weight room is likely to be the most excruciating in his workout regimen, though he would have to pull through:
"We are going to be constantly like going to be putting him in positions where he is going to lose a lot." He continued: "He would have to train from 9 to 11 and then I’ll probably let him have lunch and then he would do the weight room, the thing that hits hard. It’s really the weight room that throws everybody off.”
He also noted that given IShowSpeed's standing in the virtual world, he has the potential to bring a lot of attention to the track and field sport.
Noah Lyles and the YouTuber recently got into a race, with MrBeast setting the prize to a staggering $100,000. While it was initially slated for 100m, at IShowSpeed's behest, it was cut down to half of that. Noah Lyles eventually came out on top, prompting MrBeast to suggest that he take on another challenge in the podcast.
