On November 17, 2024, Donald Trump Jr. posted a photo on his social media platforms X and Instagram in which he was seen enjoying McDonald’s food items with RFK Jr., Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Mike Johnson. He captioned the photo ‘Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW.’
Soon after the photo went viral, internet users started posting their reactions, some of which were mainly targeted at RFK Jr. Nevertheless, the reason why RFK Jr. came under online scrutiny is he had been a strong critic of processed foods and is also an advocate for the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ (MAHA) mission.
Moreover, he had also referred to fast items like those from McDonald’s as ‘poison.’ Reacting to the photo, one X user wrote:
“The look on his face lmaooo.”
Netizens suggested a different version of MAHA while others pointed out that RFK Jr. would not have the meal.
“Imagine being so obsessed with a REALITY TV STAR that you LEGALLY CHANGED YOUR NAME and just added a “Jr” after it. Buddy took the word “glazing” to whole new heights,” a person commented.
“RFK Jr not having it,” a social media user remarked.
“Make McDonald’s Healthy Again too!” a netizen reacted.
Social media users said they wanted a McTrump burger from MCD but others remained fixated on Kennedy Jr.’s expression.
“Are we going to get a McTrump burger from @McDonalds? Even just for the day of the inauguration?” an online user asked.
“Mike Johnson went ahead and photobombed this historic photo because they sat him at the kids table,” an X user mentioned.
“the look on RFK Jr’s face is priceless,” a netizen commented.
Donald Trump nominated RFK Jr. as health secretary
The President-elect has nominated Kennedy Jr. for the position of US health secretary. Donald Trump hoped that Kennedy Jr. would help restore the health agencies to their foundations of gold-standard scientific research and transparency, addressing the chronic disease epidemic to help build a healthier and stronger America.
Concerning the photo in question, Donald Trump Jr. said they were having fun as he spoke on The Charlie Kirk Show on November 19, 2024. He said it was the third all-nighter his father pulled in two weeks, and that was a 3 AM McDonald’s treat. He said,
“Bobby did have some McDonald’s uh we definitely had some fun with that one. The memes about it I mean yeah, he definitely looks like he got his hand caught in the cookie jar uh with that one so you know we sort of joke you know MAHA starts on Monday.”
Trump Jr. continued,
“Like all good diets, you gotta be able to have a cheat day every once in a while so it was pretty funny. I think that’s like my most viral Instagram post probably ever actually uh you know people just had a good time with it you know.”
With his father and the party coming to power, Donald Trump Jr. felt it was the greatest opportunity in American history, calling it a 1776-like moment.
