DC fans have had one of the most eventful weeks of the year, first with the trailer release of the new Superman movie and now with the announcement of season 2 of The Penguin being in development. The Batman director Matt Reeves just announced on December 18, 2024, that Season 2 of the popular spinoff sequel to the 2022 film is in the works, which has left fans of the mini-series giggling with excitement.

In an interview with Zoë Kravitz, Reeves mentioned being in talks with producer Lauren LeFranc about doing another season for The Penguin. He answered Kravitz's question with:

" Yeah, we’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season. That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal."

The second season will feature Colin Farrell playing the titular role once again. After Season 1 received critical acclaim, with a large number of viewers tuning in for the season finale that aired in November this year, fans can't help but wonder what's next in store for the universe.

3 - Colin's reaction to the makeup ordeal!

Colin Farrell famously spent 4-6 hours in the make-up chair to transform himself into The Penguin. While it might have been very difficult for him, it has clearly paid off. However, this user captures Colin's reaction to the ordeal quite correctly.

4 - Skepticism

This user has posed an interesting challenge to the makers to change his mind about sequels not being as good as the ones that come before.

5 - The anticipation

Many fans, such as this one, are intrigued with the 'early talks' for Season 2 and eagerly look forward to more information.

6 - Much needed sequel

7 - No longer a limited series

Everyone who argued that there wouldn't be a season 2 because of the show being a limited series have been proven wrong by people such as this user here who won't be called crazy anymore for believing in it.

Considering how high the bar has been set with Season 1, The Penguin Season 2 sure does have fans highly hyped for Season 2, and the makers will definitely stop at nothing to deliver something amazing!
