Donald Trump and Jeff Bezos' exclusive dinner reportedly took a turn when Tesla CEO Elon Musk crashed the party. The dinner took place at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday and, per The New York Times, Musk "was not initially expected to be part of the dinner but joined as it was underway."
The incident has since sparked a flurry of memes and cutthroat remarks from some major Hollywood figures, and the President-elect's tweet the following day has done little to quell the chatter. In a cryptic message, Donald Trump declared:
"EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND!!!"
Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk's dinner draws hilarious reactions from Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, and more
Following the incident, several A-listers have given their two cents. A Newsweek report says Late Night host Seth Meyers joked that by letting Elon Musk do Donald Trump a favor, he now....
"can't get rid of him—you got 'Cable Guy'ed by Elon Musk. Every time you look out that little keyhole, he gonna be there."
Even Seth Abramson took to BlueSky to jest at both their expense:
"Elon Musk is so deranged and creepy — and such a clueless stalker — that he actually crashed a private dinner between Donald Trump and Musk rival Jeff Bezos. I can't imagine how livid that made both Trump and Bezos." He continued, stating, "What it also confirms is that Musk not only has no boundaries and believes himself Trump's superior but has no intention of permitting any other plutocrat to squeeze more juice out of Trump than him. Showing up at that dinner uninvited is a power play intended to cow both other oligarchs and Trump."
Jimmy Fallon, another late-night host, quipped,
"To settle who he loves more, Elon and Bezos are going to put Trump down in the middle of the room and see who he goes to first: 'All right, here boy!'" Stephen Colbert, a CBS host, noted that he will now be working on his "Elon Musk impression" if he's "going to be the guy running everything."
The incident has also gone viral on X, with scores online dissing the Tesla CEO and President-elect. While some have called their "bromance" into question, others claim the two simply cannot live without each other.
Regardless, the two have a knack for prioritizing each other, as in the wake of his win in the presidential election, Trump has appointed Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the efforts in axing excessive government spending.
