A quick look at Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos' friendship as both men fight for space dominance

Over the years, both Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have been vying for dominion over space with their companies, SpaceX and Blue Origin. Just this Thursday, they executed test flights with high stakes. While Blue Origin's proved successful, having launched the New Glenn rocket, Musk took to X to commend his fellow billionaire:

"Well done, @JeffBezos, and the Blue Origin team!"

Bezos replied to the same, wishing Elon Musk and his team well, to which the latter replied, "Much appreciated." However, SpaceX was not so successful, as its Starship rocket failed to soar, having fallen within minutes of its launch. Nonetheless, its Super Heavy rocket booster successfully returned to a platform on Earth, drawing compliments from Bezos.

In a tweet on X, the CEO of Amazon tweeted: "Kudos to you and the whole SpaceX team on the flawless booster catch! Very impressive." Musk started some light-hearted banter when he asked Bezos:

"Did we just become best friends? Yep!"

He doubled down on his newfound friendship when he tweeted:

"Step Brothers is the perfect meme for @JeffBezos & me."

Despite what it looks like on X, the two men have reportedly had differences over the years over patents, government contracts, and even status as the world's richest person. Elon Musk currently holds the title with an estimated net worth of $439 billion, while Bezos clocks in with $240 billion.
