Will Levis was enrolled at Pennsylvania State University to play college football from 2018 to 2020. However, while redshirting his first year, he spent the following two as Sean Clifford's backup. He kicked off his career against Rutgers in 2019, completing eight of 14 passes for 81 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception with 108 rushing yards.
He graduated with a degree in finance in May 2020 and subsequently moved on to the University of Kentucky in 2021. There, he served as the starter to open the season, and right off the bat, in his first start, he threw for a whopping 367 yards and four touchdowns. Furthermore, he started all the games for Kentucky and, in the 2022 Citrus Bowl, led the team to win the match over No. 15 Iowa.
He debuted in the NFL in October 2023, when Ryan Tannehill was cast aside following an ankle injury. It was a 28–23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, where Levis finished with 238 passing yards and four touchdowns. In November of that year, he was made the starting quarterback for the team from then on.
