The excitement for the much-awaited The Fantastic Four: First Steps has now reached its final destination. As Marvel's First Family steps into the bright lights of the Marvel Universe, fans are bracing themselves for maximum impact.
Marvel has been on a roll as well, drip-feeding fans' excitement in the form of an update here or a snippet there. Recently, the studio released a poster along with another teaser that gave fans a sneak peek into the movie.
The Fantastic Four franchise has been starved of a decent on-screen adaptation since its inception but now it finally looks like things are about to change as it steps into the spotlight. With the release of the movie almost upon us, Marvel has been sprinkling cryptic breadcrumbs the fans' way and has got the fans by the tenterhooks.
New teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps sends fans into a frenzy
The latest teaser released by Marvel is another masterclass of vague innuendos- providing fans with just enough material to keep them guessing. The teaser shows The Fantastic Four clad in their retro spacesuits enjoying the peaceful times, as they prepare themselves to embark on a trip to space.
Judging from the fact that The Thing still has a face, we can assume that this innocent picture was taken before they went to space and things went horribly south for them. The words 'Ready For Takeoff' are plastered all across the face of the poster, and sound eerily similar to the line Marvel has been spewing about every movie since the end of Avengers: Endgame.
The teaser has catapulted fans onto Mount Rushmore of excitement and they are going bananas up there. The 20-second trailer sent the fans into a meltdown as social media got filled with over-the-top reactions:
"Never clicked on a notification so fast", quipped one fan (via X / @CbfmaBh).
"Marvel’s first family is finally getting the spotlight they deserve", exclaimed another (via X / @novastellaris).
DC's Superman is also scheduled to be released around the same time as The Fantastic Four: First Steps. With two superhero flicks coming to the box office at the same time, there were bound to be fan wars between Marvel and DC fans. One DC fan's comment was enough to fan the flames and what followed was absolute mayhem on the timeline:
"Will be seated.......... for SUPERMAN", quipped a fan.
"This shit ain't beating Superman", another fan chipped in (via X / @JotaroK70662353).
Another user poked fun at The Fantastic Four cast by comparing it to a future NBA 2K simulation. The guy in the line of fire? Human Torch.
We would walk on eggshells especially when we are around Johnny, nobody quite knows what will tick him off! (pun intended)
Amid the fan wars, one fan retorted with a clapback so loud its echoes were heard through Krypton:
"At least we have Fantastic Four and not this Superboy comedy where CGI dog beats him."
Amid the hysteria, one fan only now realized that Pedro Pascal was starring in the movie and poked fun at him:
"Is Pedro Pascal in like every movie now?", quipped the fan (via X / @ikristoph).
The thing is - well, The Thing is a massive pile of orange rock. But he is extremely entertaining, as are the rest of The Fantastic Four. The teaser has done its job, and Marvel has got the fans hooked on the movie. So until the next teaser comes out (because that's the maximum we can expect from Marvel), fans will be clutching onto their phones, hoping for the next update to drop.
