WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 flew off the tracks in the least expected manner — because, somehow, Travis Scott accidentally injured Cody Rhodes amid all the frenzy. And that was not even the wildest part, seeing that this whole event took place on a show that saw John Cena turn heel.
At first, fans thought the whole thing was just part of the drama, but then Dave Meltzer dropped a deets on Wrestling Observer Radio: Cody actually got wrecked for real, walking away with a busted eardrum and a black eye.
Meltzer put it bluntly:
"Cody got hurt. I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it. I’ve heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye."
Because, of course, in 2025 we’re living in a timeline where Travis Scott is injuring WWE champions.
Naturally, the internet lost its mind, and the theories started flying. Did Travis Scott not realize WWE is scripted? Did he go full heel on purpose? Or did he just get way too caught up in the moment?
No one knows for sure — but the internet cannot stop laughing.
A user stated:
"They just be letting anybody in that ring."
One more user mentioned:
"That cody cutter receipt is gonna be cinema."
A user hilariously urged:
"Somebody pls tell Travis tht this shit ain’t real 😭 🙏"
Roasting the entire situation, a user said:
"Breaking news, wrestler sustains minor injury from wrestling"??"
One sus user speculated:
"Guarantee Cody got no apology too although the injury may be part of the story we’ll see."
"He did slap the s**t out of him lol."
A user joked:
"How do we tell him that WWE is scripted?😭"
Travis Scott’s WWE moment gone wrong — and the internet is eating it up
Travis Scott's WWE work has been gaining steam for months — his hit single, 4x4, is the current WWE Raw theme, and he's even shown up, most notably walking Jey Uso to the ring earlier this year.
But even that couldn't have prepared supporters for what went down at Elimination Chamber 2025.
Viral footage depicts Scott grabbing Cody Rhodes by the throat and firing a blow that appeared far too realistic, prompting an immediate reaction.
Fans are now wondering — if he didn't get the memo that wrestling is staged.
Even with all the chaos, initial reports indicate that Rhodes will heal in time for WrestleMania 41 (April 19-20, Las Vegas), where he's defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena — who's out to break Ric Flair's record before retiring.
Strangely, reports are now indicating that Travis Scott could possibly have a future within WWE.
As per Fightful Select, Scott has begun training for an in-ring debut, and who's supporting him? The Rock himself.
Apparently, at a post-event press conference, The Great One spoke out in favor of Scott's participation, so this may not be a one-time publicity stunt — Travis may indeed be getting into the squared ring for good.
John Cena’s shocking heel turn & Travis Scott’s wild strike

The drama played out during the last minutes of the March 1 premium live event.
Following John Cena's victory in the Elimination Chamber match, which earned him his WrestleMania 41 title shot against Cody Rhodes, a heartwarming moment appeared to be unfolding.
Rhodes made his way into the ring to shake Cena's hand — but he received a betrayal instead.
Out of nowhere, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson snapped in with Travis Scott in tow, and the three delivered a brutal, no-holds-barred beatdown to Rhodes.
This was monumental — not only because it left Rhodes battered and bruised, but because it was Cena's first heel turn in decades.
The WWE Universe was rattled.
And then there was the moment that truly got people talking — Travis Scott cold-cocking Rhodes in the head.
Video from the show indicates what appeared to be a wild strike, and according to Dave Meltzer it is what resulted in Rhodes' broken eardrum and black eye.
