A Minecraft Movie has hit theaters, and the chicken jockey meme is taking over. The hype is so real that people are reportedly getting removed from theaters for screaming excessively during the scene. Nobody ever imagined that this would actually come to pass, but here we are— A Minecraft Movie that nobody ever thought would succeed is now generating more buzz than any other film in 2025.
As reported by Dexerto, things became so wild at one cinema that they had to interrupt the film and even call in the police over the chicken jockey scene.
In this scene, one of the characters, voiced by Jack Black, yells out, "Chicken Jockey!" and for whatever reason, the crowd totally loses it.
For those who do not know, Chicken Jockey originates from Minecraft. It's when a small zombie rides on the back of a chicken, which is amusing and completely unexpected.
Now, thanks to the film, it's a massive Internet phenomenon.
People online are losing their minds watching everything play out in real life. Some are making it even bigger, while others are just standing there, lost, wondering how we arrived here.
Weren't we all telling ourselves, "We're not watching this," and "This movie is going to flop"? And now, somehow, it has become the biggest thing ever.
Whatever the cause, social media has totally lost it, and everybody is just having the best time of their lives watching the mayhem.
Social media reacts as A Minecraft Movie screening stops over the Chicken Jockey scene
A number of users could not stop giggling over how people have gone crazy about a Minecraft chicken. Others described it as if they had been young kids; this would be the peak of their childhood at this point.
Some, on the other hand, are referring to how literally Minecraft— not Avengers: Endgame— so how come a single scene has all the world so excited?
A user @ImMiaBabe stated:
"Imagine getting arrested bc u couldn't handle a Minecraft chicken, wild."
Another user @William45589421 added:
"That be the highlight of my childhood if it were me."
A user @luanaxbelle went on to say:
"It’s Minecraft, not Avengers Endgame 🤣"
Some users jokingly asked who had snitched on the police. Others continued to joke that the movie is so bad that it's good. While others were simply in absolute shock—chaos? In A Minecraft Movie? How did we get here?
One user, @Pickuptruckdude, humorously asked:
"Who snitched."
A user @KovoTrades stated:
"A terrible representation of the game with well-deserved riots held in screenings."
A user @QAlchemyAI probably asked in disbelief:
"Violence at a minecraft movie?"
Some fans just couldn't fathom it—not that they questioned the reports, but that they couldn't understand why a Chicken Jockey moment was generating such an enormous hype.
Others were making jokes that they now seriously believe "brain rot" is a thing and not an internet meme.
Some even equated the reaction to how much hype Avengers: Endgame generated, questioning how A Minecraft Movie achieved this level.
A user @bebopcore said:
"Ain't no way this is true."
One user @DeadassDelusion noted:
"Brainrot is an actual thing and not just a meme."
A user @Whatever4890 stated:
"Damn, Avengers Endgame didn’t Get this bad. The Chicken Jockey that special huh?"
Meanwhile, the internet is filled with videos of individuals in cinemas going completely gaga over the Chicken Jockey scene—shouting, cheering, and losing their minds.
Who would have imagined that a Chicken Jockey would turn into such a huge internet moment? But here we are, and everybody is just eating it up.
From initial predictions that A Minecraft Movie would bomb to now creating more buzz than nearly any other movie, the turnaround has been unbelievable.
