The teaser for Wednesday Season 2 premiered on Netflix on January 30, 2025. Jenna Ortega returns to the show while the plot intensifies its darkness through the Nevermore Academy becoming the most disruptive educational institution surpassing the Voldemort-infected Hogwarts.

Meanwhile, social media is abuzz with reactions. If you are counting on normies, you're at the wrong place. But if you're looking to tickle the funny bone, welcome.

One X (formerly Twitter) user declared:

"Shouldn't Wednesday season 2 just be called Thursday?"
Another user stated: "help i don’t remember the last season anything close to this ajdjdksnslsk."
A user added: "I can speak for everyone when I say, we don’t want it."
A user quipped: "I thought we've moved on from this show."
A comment read: "I forgot this existed. Why do we wait so long for new seasons of shows?"
Another comment read: "It’s been like 30 years bruh lol."
A user commented: "Every teaser makes me wonder if Netflix is just holding a dark magic seminar."

Wednesday teaser shook the web

The teaser is sneakily packed into a sizzle reel during Netflix’s "Next on Netflix" event. The first thing we see is Tyler (Hunter Doohan), our resident shape-shifting problem child, literally chained to a wall.

Looks like the writers are escalating on the tension left hanging in the season 1 finale, where Tyler was unmasked as the Hyde and sent off into the abyss of morally questionable redemption arcs.

Will he escape? We don’t know but the suspense is thick.

Meanwhile, Wednesday Addams is prepared to untangle even more supernatural chaos. Her signature glare is still sharper than a guillotine and her enemies are probably making their peace with the afterlife as we speak (or write).

The teaser hints at bigger mysteries, possibly tied to her family’s spooky legacy. Season 2 looks like a full cannonball into the abyss.

The teaser strongly suggests that the Addams family's past might hold more skeletons (both literal and metaphorical) than we thought.

A quick recap for the forgetful

The spin-off show Wednesday comes from The Addams Family while following an adolescent goth girl through the supernatural student institution Nevermore Academy made to accommodate misfits.

Nevermore Academy contains Hogwarts elements but provides students with less magical education and more homicide.

The show incorporates elements of mystery together with sarcasm and features a teen drama plot. When it first dropped in 2022, it basically took over Netflix, second only to Stranger Things in watch hours.

Wednesday Addams, with her emotionless delivery, is the perfect protagonist. In Season 1, she juggled family drama, messy friendships, and literal murder plots.

Now, Season 2 is promising to push her even further. More enemies, more mysteries, more emotional complexity.

She’s probably about to have the worst semester ever. We can’t wait to watch.

Who is Jenna Ortega?

Alongside her return as Wednesday Addams, the actress now serves as producer dedicated to Season 2 of the show. Wednesday's Season 1 performance was exceptional yet in Season 2 she will have increased leadership duties.

The character Wednesday possesses qualities of independence and confidence which makes fans love her according to Ortega during her earlier remarks.

She maintains complete authenticity while refusing social acceptance and displays an outfit collection that could make business executives shed happy tears.

Our Season 2 will witness Wednesday fight various dangers that simultaneously challenge her internal forces.
