Jesse Armstrong, the man behind one of the most appealing comedy drama series, Succession, is now throwing his hat into the feature filmmaker’s ring. The cast that he reportedly aims to assemble for his yet-untitled project has stunned all Armstrong fans, and in true Succession fashion.

According a post on the verified X account of DiscussingFilm:

"Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman, Ramy Youssef & Cory Michael Smith will star in ‘Succession’ creator Jess Armstrong’s first ever movie."

While none of it is officially confirmed, the post claims that the film is about a group of billionaire friends who unite against the backdrop of a global crisis, adding that the film is scheduled for release on HBO in Spring.

Beyond his illustrious career as a screenwriter for films and TV, and an executive producer for small screen shows, Armstrong has directed two short films — No Kaddish in Carmarthen (2013) and Incident on the Northern Line (2015).

Since the buzz about Armstrong's directorial debut in feature films broke out, fans and netizens are having a hard time keeping calm. The comment section hilarity has just begun with reactions and memes.

Details of the movie may still be unclear, but netizens are donning their detective hats to tease whatever information they can and, in the true social media fashion, doing it with a dash of humor.

Steve Carell has left a lasting impression in comedy with his acclaimed role in The Office. As Michael Scott on the show, his performance is packed with signature despair that makes us laugh out loud and also cry because it is relatable. Carell's brand of humor on screen has always induced existential crisis, prompting fans to come back for more.

Now that we are talking of the cast, let's talk about Jason Schwartzman, too. His acting and dialogue delivery brings alive a mix of arrogance and insecurity. Ramy Youssef, meanwhile, promises to add a modern yet timeless charm to the brilliant mix of actors.
