Norwegian streamer Martin Foss Andersen, better known as MrSavage, is a former Fortnite pro player who became one of the game's best and most successful competitors in the world, all before hitting his twenties. Having amassed over 3 million subscribers on Twitch, the 20-year-old has built a flourishing gaming career. And as if those achievements weren't impressive enough, he just added another big one to his list.
MrSavage just set a world record by eliminating another player with his monitor positioned 1,161.31 meters away. Pulling off this incredible feat in the snow-covered mountains of Norway’s Lofoten Islands, the former Fortnite pro secured the Guinness World Record for the longest in-game elimination using a standard gaming setup and a 100x zoom telescope. The achievement has left the internet both amazed and amused.
Hilarious internet reactions
While many users were impressed by MrSavage's achievement, some couldn’t help but poke fun at the lengths people will go for content, taking to the internet to share their hilarious reactions.
Can't relate (via @Stuffed_Raccoon / X)
MrSavage managed to eliminate a player using a 100x zoom telescope from a monitor positioned 1,161.31 meters away, while many of us can’t even secure an elimination with the monitor right in front of us. Now that’s skill!
"Bro retired then decided to start breaking records," a fan wrote.
The man retired from competitive Fortnite, only to come back and create a world record in the same game. Talk about coming back with a bang!
"‘Ex-Fortnite pro’ is without a doubt the most embarrassing thing I have ever heard," pointed another.
As this user points out, many people have been calling MrSavage an 'ex-Fortnite pro' while talking about the record he just set. Well, that must sting, especially since he just proved that he's the biggest pro of them all!
"Bet he can do it again, double or nothing! 🎰💰," another user said.
Looks like this user is willing to bet a lot of money that MrSavage can do it again if given the chance—double or nothing. So, MrSavage, are you up for the challenge?
"Man you could make up any random challenge and get in this book," commented another.
Many users have been laughing at Guinness, talking about how people come up with anything to create new, weird, and unique records every day.
MrSavage has truly lived up to his name by doing something so savage that no one else in the world has accomplished yet, leaving the internet hilariously wondering what unique records they could create or break.
So do you think you can set a record that no one can ever even think of beating?
