Tinseltown is abuzz about Mikey Madison's meteoric ascent following her Oscar win for Anora, and reportedly so is Marvel Studios. Best Actress winner Mikey Madison has officially entered 'it girl' territory, as major studios line up to be associated with her—most importantly, the MCU, which already has her targeted for a spot, according to industry scooper Daniel Richtman.
For Madison, it is potentially a career-breaking moment. But for the internet, it's business as usual—Marvel swoops in the moment an actor becomes Hollywood's new darling.
Fans did not waste any time mocking how Marvel does not look for talent—it looks for influence, with some even terming their approach to casting 'Oscar Fishing.'
Marvel has a long history of going after actors fresh from critically acclaimed performances, and this has created some doubt among fans as to whether these casting decisions are based on actual suitability for the role or merely on an actor's recent popularity.
Some social media commenters sarcastically observed that winning an Oscar appears to be Marvel's equivalent of an audition.
One X user joked:
"Yeah but is she considering them."
What if she says no, and suddenly DC slides into her DMs?
A user straight-off suggested:
"She needs to go to DC. Harley or huntress >>>"
So she should trade green screens for…slightly darker green screens?
Accompanied by a relevant GIF, a user stated:
"Feige hiring award winners"
One user highlighted:
"Notice how Marvel was first to jump right when she got an award and not before?"
They’re like that friend who only texts you when you win the lottery.
"No Mikey, don’t ruin your career."
As per this user, Marvel’s waiting room got Oscar winners AND wasted potential sitting next to each other.
Meanwhile, a user went on to say:
"Not them taking advantage fresh out of an oscar💀"
‘Congrats on your win! Now, how do you feel about spending 6 years in a green suit?’
Is Mikey Madison Marvel's latest target?
Richtman says that the studio is eyeing Mikey Madison for an MCU part, although nothing is certain. This has already generated fan speculation about who she could potentially play, with some wishing that she could join the much-awaited X-Men reboot.
The X-Men reboot is one of Marvel's most highly anticipated projects, and many would think that Madison would be a good fit for a character like Rogue or Shadowcat.
Alas, no guarantees that Madison would take on a role, even if she's offered it.
Mikey Madison's break into the mainstream

Prior to Anora, Mikey Madison established a strong foundation of work within the industry, both leading in reviews such as the critically well-received Better Things and scream-horror movie successes like Scream (2022).
It was, however, her role as Ani Mikheeva—an ambitious dancer involved in a whirlwind affair with the son of a Russian oligarch—that brought her into the A-list category of Hollywood.
Sean Baker's Anora was hailed far and wide for its emotional and raw narrative.
Her act was among the most gripping that year, which earned her not only the BAFTA but also the Academy Award for Best Actress.
Additionally, Marvel Studios is not the only one knocking on her door. There are reports that bestselling author Colleen Hoover wants Madison to star in an adaptation of one of her books.
Also, award-winning director Greta Gerwig—fresh from the success of Barbie—is said to be considering Madison for a possible role, perhaps in Netflix's upcoming Narnia movies, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
