Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has found himself in hot water after he announced earlier this week that the company would be scrapping all of its independent fact-checkers. The move has since brought him to the forefront if only to teach him a lesson, as some online users would put it.

“We’re going to simplify our content policies and get rid of a bunch of restrictions on topics like immigration and gender that are just out of touch with mainstream discourse,” he said on Thursday. “What started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas, and it’s gone too far.”
