Did you ever find yourself in a not-really-a-life-threatening "disaster", like a spoiler to your favorite show or a tidal wave of emails at work? Say hello to the “marked safe” memes.

It was Facebook's Safety Check feature which created this viral meme. Originally intended for moments when people wanted to comfort their relatives in an actual emergency, the 'Marked Safe' trend eventually evolved into a meme.

An instance of this meme? A flippant status that announces a person as safe from Harvey Weinstein today. IYKYK. From there, this trend went viral and people tagged themselves safe from basically anything that has happened in their life— be it a bad date or spoilers for Marvel movies. It’s a blue flag, black font and a limitless canvas that’s made it the 'be-all' and 'end-all' of transforming even the most mundane drama into something people can laugh at.

12 Marked Safe memes that will make you both chuckle and agree:

1) Crying in the car

Does that mean I am starting to win at adulting? And does that also mean that I deserve a gold star in emotional stability?

2) Beer couldn't

Successfully avoided being questioned on my life choices by a cylindrical container of liquid. Growth is real, people.

3) Pajama party

Marked safe from Pinterest-worthy, slippery slope of matching pajamas. Maybe I will even dodge monogrammed towels.

4) Blissful ignorance

Turns out I am more afraid of the electricity bill than the end of the world.

5) Friday the 13th

Camp Crystal Lake? Nice try, Jason. You can keep your machete. I don't want to star in your horror flick.

6) Low energy mode

Managed to dodge the trap of being remotely productive. Safe and sound in my sweet spot.

7) Stock market

My financial strategy involves not having a panic attack with the changing graphs. My investments are better off on snooze mode.

8) Solar eclipse

We don't need conspiracy theories about the Moon and the Sun doing their thing.

9) College loan

My money stays with me - sorry, not sorry.

10) No offence

Stay calm, unbothered and blisfully offline.

11) Soul-crushing awkwardness

No secondhand embarrassment here - at least not today.

12) Freak parties

No FOMO here. My couch and I are having a calmer evening.

Some of these memes are jokes meaninglessly cracking fun at monumental moments in pop culture, while others are mere exaggerations of daily frustrations.

From spoiler alerts, embarrassing scenes or worse, on Monday mornings, this meme format is a friendly way of containing things and, of course, life’s okay.

So tell us, what would you mark yourself safe from?
