Neymar's 2024 with Al-Hilal has become a case study of bringing home the bacon without breaking a sweat or even breaking much of a trot. Playing just for 42 minutes over two games, Neymar was said to take home a whopping $103 million.

Fans on social media have reacted with the most hilarious comments possible. One X user summed it up perfectly: "Lol. Where can I do this?"

Another person said, "Dam thats some money to do nothing 👀".
The laughs didn't stop as another said, "$103M for 2 matches is insane lmao."
Another termed it a "money heist."
Another one joked, "Neymar pulled off the greatest heist since Ocean's 11, but solo."
One last zinger: "Athletes are really making generational wealth lmfao."

Neymar's injury struggles

Neymar's injury journey at Al-Hilal has been a rollercoaster ride with more downs than ups. Following an ACL injury in November 2023, he was out for almost a year, with fans waiting for the Brazilian star's grand return.

The moment finally came on October 21, 2024. But, it was a dramatic comeback.

His return to the playing field needed careful handling, like threading a needle in a hurricane.

He followed this up with his second game after returning: the AFC Champions League match against Esteghlal on November 4. He was substituted in the 58th minute of the game.

For a while, it was as if things were turning around. But by the 88th minute, a cramp showed up, forcing Neymar to make an early exit.

He later posted:

“I felt like a cramp but very strong! I will do exams and hope it’s nothing more”.

Since joining Al-Hilal for nearly $98 million, Neymar's time on the pitch has been limited. To say the least—seven games, to be exact. That's a lot of zeros per game.

While he is out of the Saudi Pro League until January 2025, Neymar aims for a complete recovery.

Neymar's contract with Al-Hilal is literally the epitome of big flex. The man made a bold transfer from PSG to Al-Hilal for a whopping $98 million, and that amount can shoot up based on his performance. He signed a two-year contract, which expires in June 2025.

In 2024, Neymar earned a mind-boggling $103 million from Al-Hilal but barely set foot on the field. Barely in this context is used as in the entire campaign, he managed to play just 42 minutes across two matches.

Neymar made $52.0 million per match that he played.

For every minute Neymar spent on the field, he raked in about $2.47 million. Yep, two million bucks per minute. That’s almost more than some of us make in a lifetime (and a few extra lifetimes).

Neymar touched the ball only 45 times, though every touch on that ball priced him at an astronomical $1.13 million. Basically, he makes a million bucks without hiccups every time he kicks or taps a ball.

Anyway, the fella isn't playing much, though he will be a world champion in being paid for pretty much doing very little.

Neymar's salary puts him in the top-earner category of football. However, if we talk about who's really stacking paper, Cristiano Ronaldo is at $213 million annually at Al-Nassr.

Lionel Messi is making a pretty hefty $130.96 million over at Inter Miami, too.
