Netizens' funny reactions to Street Fighter film's indefinite delay

Because of the news, Street Fighter fans poked fun at the game's movie remake, sarcastically saying that it's better this way, especially since the first two live-action film adaptations of the video game are already "perfect."

"Good, leave perfection alone" - a fan said (via X/@jonmcbrine)

Fans are also thankful that the film adaptation is indefinitely delayed because they fear that if it were pushed through, it would be a mess—just like The Legend of Chun-Li!

"Honestly might be a blessing in disguise—Street Fighter deserves a live-action adaptation done right, not rushed. Let’s hope they take their time to avoid another Chun-Li fiasco." - another fan replied (via X/@Bru3eTweets)

Other fans also trolled the news, saying that it's okay if the remake doesn't happen right now because Street Fighter(1994) was the GOAT of all its films! (via X/@Alex_Fatemi)

Some fans even joked that it's good the movie is indefinitely delayed, as this will give the casting team time to find the perfect actor to play Ryu.

"Give them plenty of time to cast the right after to portray Ryu. The eyebrows MUST be perfect." - another fan replied (via X/@NeonBear007)

Fans also clowned the news, saying that no one will ever match Raul Julia's portrayal of Bison in the 1994 film! (via X/@WattoPhotos)

X users hilariously shared that if the film moves forward and doesn’t include professional martial artists in the cast, then they might as well not make the movie at all!

"Need all the top martial artists in it. Otherwise don’t make it." - an X user commented (via X/@SlimCharles323)

And finally, X users roasted the remake, saying that "indefinitely delayed" is just a fancy way of saying "the movie is never getting made."

Why is the Street Fighter indefinitely delayed?

This might come as a shock because, just last February, it was reportedly announced that Kitao Sakurai would direct the live-action remake of the film. So the question is: why is the remake indefinitely delayed?

According to news outlets, there have been no updates, statements, or explanations regarding the delay. But one thing's for sure—there should be another Street Fighter film for fans, both young and old, in this lifetime.

We don't know the exact reason for the indefinite delay, but one must hold on to hope—that sooner or later, the remake will be picked up by the studio (or maybe another film company) to give Street Fighter fans the movie they deserve!
