Kendrick Lamar is now the #1 best-selling artist of 2025 in the U.S. by total album units, as per Chart Data. This comes after the release of his latest album GNX. Other than debuting at No. 1 on Billboard 200, it also achieved platinum certification almost immediately after the release.

In addition to this, his single Luther was on top of the Billboard Hot 100 consecutively for four weeks.

According to Chart Masters, Lamar’s total equivalent sales have now exceeded 71 million.

But all of this is not what concerns the internet. Social media is hooked on just one thing— which is trolling.

Users are taking hilarious jabs at Kendrick Lamar claiming that all this is the work of bots. That means none of these figures are genuine.

Fans have even gone so far as to say they've never heard someone play any of Lamar's songs.

At the same time, whenever Kendrick Lamar is spoken of, Drake's name is not too far behind. Netizens are jokingly picturing his situation at the moment with some users claiming he must be weeping in some corner at the moment.

Social media reacts as Kendrick Lamar becomes the #1 best-selling artist of 2025 in the U.S.

Some of the users are flat-out saying that these figures aren't accurate, inferring that the bots are working overtime. Others were joking that they've never actually known someone who listens to Kendrick Lamar's music.

A user @Jossi_224 stated:

"Yes and half of his clients are bots. “They Bot like Us”."

Another user @iggyreport added:

"Not if it was by BOTS. BOTS = no legacy."

One user @crueellsummerr claimed:

"BOTS WORKING OVERTIME. NOT SURPRISED."

A user @king_meech30 claimed:

"Cap i don't hear a single soul playing his music."

Now, there exist two types of reactions related to Drake. Some users are making jokes that he must be bawling in a corner somewhere. Others claim Kendrick Lamar is due his success to Drake and owes him credit.

A few users, however, claim Kendrick's numbers appear rigged, stating bots don't know the meaning of winning organically.

One user @thedanielaros quipped:

"Drake must be crying his eyes out."

Another user @305sBabyBoi thinks:

"Due to drake, feed they families drake."

One netizen @TimeIzMoney101 went on to say:

"I swear these the most quiet numbers ever 😭😭😭. Kbots don’t realize we don’t see ppl going crazy for his shit . No hate just facts."

People are again making indirect jokes about Drake. This time they're sharing memes illustrating how one particular fan base appears in the comments—sniffling, fabricating, and struggling to come to terms with what's happening.

A user thinks this is how Drake fans must look right now.

"A certain fanbase in comments🤡😂🤣"

Another user @RcStreetz poked fun saying:

"A river of tears in these comments lol."

Ironically, some of the users weren't even discussing Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or anyone associated with them. They were in their own world, boldly asserting that either Selena Gomez or Eminem was going to be the number-one artist in the U.S.

A user @gomez thinks:

"selena is coming for that spot."

While another user @EminemSpotify_ alleges:

"Eminem is number one best Selling of all time now it’s Official Eminem has only Sold out forever."

Although the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake appears to be simmering down a bit, social media isn't quite ready to move on. Anything little that either artist does just continues to add fuel to the fire, keeping the drama alive.
