Kanye West just pulled another Kanye West. Again. Ye has officially rage-quit X (formerly Twitter) account following a series of controversial online activities. His departure from the platform coincided with the Super Bowl.
Social media was quick to hop on the bandwagon of hilarious commentary. One user hilariously stated:
"Kanye West waking up and seeing all the damage done by Ye"
Another user added:
"he just woke up and deactivated his account 😭"
A user joked:
"Ye scrolling through his notifications like "what did Other Ye do this time" before deactivating again."
A user humorously mentioned:
"Does Ye talk to Kanye West like how the Goblin talk to Norman Osborn? 😳"
A user thinks:
"bro rly just crashed out because of the super bowl and left 😭"
A user shared a fun context with the caption that read:
"GOOD NEWS ALL AROUND TONIGHT"
A user went on to react with a hilarious GIF:
A user stated:
"Ye logging off X feels like the season finale of a wild show. how long before the comeback episode?"
A user went on to say:
"Lmaooo bro said “hold up, I’m Kanye now.” 😂"
Kanye West deactivates his X account
West's exit was preceded by a Super Bowl ad that social media immediately compared to the Joker’s ominous TV hijacks from the Batman movies.
In the ad, he claimed to have spent the entire budget on new dental work and shot the whole thing on an iPhone, all to direct people to Yeezy.com.
Because, of course, he did.
In the days leading up to his exit, he managed to outdo even himself.
West faced backlash for openly calling himself a Nazi and making antisemitic remarks in online posts. He also voiced support for Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently in federal custody.
Before deactivating his account, West thanked Elon Musk for allowing him to share his thoughts, comparing his time on the platform to a spiritual journey.
He ended his message with, "Good afternoon and goodnight."
X had already slapped a warning on his profile, telling users that his content contained “potentially sensitive material.”
This action was likely a response to his recent antisemitic comments.
West's actions led to widespread criticism, with many calling for his removal from the platform. Celebrities like David Schwimmer and Piers Morgan urged X owner Elon Musk to ban West permanently.
Kanye West’s history of rage posts
This is not the first time West's behavior on social media has stirred controversy. His history of offensive rants includes antisemitic outbursts, racist remarks, #MeToo skepticism, unsolicited thoughts on fat people, ugly people, poor people, his kids’ school, people who wear too much jewelry, rappers, the late Virgil Abloh, Kamala Harris, and even Make-A-Wish children.
Truly, no demographic is safe. Some users on social media were even pleading with his wife, Bianca Censori, to take away his phone.
One X user stated:
"yo @bianca_censori take your husbands phone away for a lil bit please 🙏🙏"
And then he announced that he was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and is actually autistic. According to him, his autism is responsible for some of his behavior, including his refusal to take medication because it “blocks his creativity.”
But until then, Elon Musk, Travis Scott, and Tyler, the Creator had already unfollowed him.
In 2022, his account was suspended after posting an antisemitic tweet. It was later restored in July 2023.
For now, Kanye is off X. But if history tells us anything, it won’t be long before Ye finds another way to make everything about Ye.
