Twitter/X has had a rough day, going down not once but twice since the morning. For a platform that thrives on chaos, it’s ironic that the chaos this time was caused by its own technical issues. Naturally, the internet had a field day with it.

Users found themselves staring at error messages instead of their usual dose of memes, arguments, and viral posts. Panic set in. Some tried refreshing the page like their lives depended on it, while others briefly considered touching grass. But just as they were about to step outside, Twitter/X miraculously returned, only to go down again. Classic.

Twitter/X Outage Sparks Online Frenzy

Whenever X has a meltdown, the internet reacts in two predictable ways: widespread frustration and even wider-spread memes. This time was no different.

A post pointing out the double outage quickly went viral, perfectly capturing the shared struggle. The tweet, which read, "Twitter/X has now gone down twice since the morning," hit home for many who had already experienced two mini heart attacks for the day. With each outage, the realization sank in: What if this is permanent? Where would everyone go to scream into the void?

Cue the collective internet response. It was only a matter of minutes before Twitter/X’s misfortune became entertainment. Users wasted no time in making fun of the situation, and the reactions practically wrote themselves.

One of the best reactions featured Mark Zuckerberg seeing Twitter go down, presumably rubbing his hands together with excitement.

With Meta’s own social media empire (including Threads, which still exists somewhere in the background), it’s easy to imagine him watching the whole thing unfold like a supervillain waiting for the right moment.

Another user summed up the emotional rollercoaster with,

"I’ve had two panics today so far because of this."

Fair enough. For many, Twitter is less of a social media platform and more of a lifeline. When it disappears, even briefly, the world suddenly feels a little too quiet.

Then there were those questioning reality itself. One person hilariously asked,

"How did you post this amid all this downtime?"

which is a valid point. Did the original poster break the system? Were they operating on some secret internet that the rest of us don’t have access to? The conspiracy theories practically write themselves.

And of course, no X blunder is complete without jokes about Elon Musk. One reaction captured the moment perfectly and was

"Elon rn figuring it out,"

paired with an image of someone desperately trying to solve a problem they have no idea how to fix. Say what you will about Musk, but he does keep things interesting.

Then, there was the ultimate observation:

"Jobless mfs when they saw this."

A beautifully savage take. The sudden disappearance of Twitter left many people questioning their existence, while others (the truly enlightened ones) probably took the opportunity for a well-timed nap.

At this point, X going down is just part of the experience. It’s like living in a house where the power randomly shuts off, but instead of calling an electrician, everyone just makes jokes until the lights come back on.

Whether or not X continues to have a rough time, one thing is certain: the internet will always be ready with memes. And honestly? That’s the kind of reliability we can count on.
