Emilia Pérez nominations at the BAFTAs

The prestigious Best Film category includes the competition with other major films alongside Emilia Pérez.

The BAFTA nominates Jacques Audiard for Best Director.

The BAFTA nomination for Best Leading Actress went to Karla Sofía Gascón for portraying Emilia while becoming the first openly trans actress to secure such recognition. For Supporting Actress awards, both Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña were nominated.

The film Emilia Pérez faces strong competition against Conclave which has twelve nominations including Best Film and Best Director.

The BAFTA Awards ceremony

The 78th British Academy Film Awards took place on February 16, 2025, at London's Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank.

David Tennant hosted the show for the second consecutive year. The ceremony was broadcast with a time delay in the UK on BBC One at 7 pm GMT. The ceremony began at approximately 4:45 pm UK time and concluded at approximately 8 pm.

Apart from the ceremony, audiences also had the opportunity to see Clara Amfo and Alex Zane live on the red carpet on BAFTA's YouTube channel prior to the ceremony.
