Neon and A24 have emerged as two of the most influential film studios, winning over massive fan bases and even sweeping the Oscars. One might assume they’re rivals, right? Wrong! Because according to Neon, their real competition isn’t A24, but actually Netflix.

Neon recently revealed that Netflix desperately tried to outbid them for I, Tonya and Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and succeeded in snatching Hit Man, May December, and Fair Play instead. The internet is amused, as Netflix seems determined to acquire every movie known to man.

Hilarious Internet Reactions

Netizens had plenty of hilarious reactions to Neon's revelation. Let’s check out some of them.

"Is this good or bad?" asked a user.

Many users are torn on whether this is good or bad, as Netflix makes more money, while A24 is known for better movies. Looks like a real "to be or not to be" moment for Neon.

"What films has neon made? Genuine question, I can’t think of any," wondered another.

Neon now has a new goal besides competing with Netflix - making movies so successful that this user not only learns their name but declares them their favorite!

"Neon and A24 is where you wanna be as an actor apparently, they’re both dishing out some good movies," another commented.

A message to all actors from this user - work with Neon or A24 over Netflix if you want a real shot at an Oscar!

Netflix has been on a mission, swooping in and acquiring movies before others even get a chance. You may Netflix and chill, but they certainly don’t until they’ve locked in the best films!

"Can’t wait till I get a bidding war for my movie," a user wrote.

Neon might have a solution - hiring this user as a writer and filmmaker! After all, he claims to have ideas that could spark a bidding war with Netflix.

"Netflix really said “if i can’t have it, no one can,” another joked.

After securing Hit Man, May December, and Fair Play over Neon, this user believes Netflix is on a mission - if they can't have it, no one can!

Netflix may have shaken Neon's game in acquiring movies, but netizens believe Neon will bounce back. After all, they've mastered the art of turning complex films into Oscar gold.
