Captain America: Brave New World didn’t exactly turn out to be the Valentine’s movie couples might have hoped for, despite having a Big Red Hulk representing the color of love. The movie, however, opened to mixed reviews, most of them being unfavorable. And one of its major critics has been none other than renowned Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima.
The 61-year-old designer of games like Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding said that when he watched the movie, he vaguely remembered Sam receiving the shield in Endgame but wondered when he had officially become Captain America. He also questioned whether it was because he hadn’t seen The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and was curious about the Avengers being reorganized. His reaction amused Marvel fans, many of whom were in the same boat as Kojima.
Hilarious Fan Reactions
Let's take a look at some of the most hilarious reactions users had to Hideo Kojima’s reaction to watching Captain America: Brave New World.
"Is it better than Winter Soldier?" a user asked.
It looks like this user hasn’t seen the new Captain America either, like many others, and is wondering if it’s better than Winter Soldier. Well, the answer might just be hidden in Kojima’s reaction.
"If Kojima openly says it’s confusing you know it’s bad," pointed out another.
As this user points out, if the man who created complex video games like Metal Gear Solid found the movie confusing, then you better believe it’s true and carve it in stone.

You could say that watching Captain America: Brave New World without seeing all the previous movies is like showing up to a test without studying, as this user suggests. So, does that mean we need to watch 60 hours’ worth of content before seeing this movie?
"I mean a simple google search would’ve answered all of his questions 😭," said a fan.
Well, duh! According to this user, Hideo Kojima should have just googled all his questions during the movie, hopefully without getting yelled at by the people in the back for using his phone!
To catch up or give up? (via @SifuYeti / X)
Looks like many people who haven’t kept up with the previous Marvel movies struggled to understand what was going on. After all, there are years of catching up to do!
Captain America: Brave New World didn't turn out to be the movie fans were hoping for, managing to confuse even complex video game creators like Hideo Kojima. Hopefully, it didn’t ruin any Valentine’s date nights; otherwise, Marvel Studios might just witness a Brave (and angry) New World rising with their fans!
