Buckle up, because Disney just released new concept art for the ride vehicles that will debut in Magic Kingdom's new Cars-themed land, and it appears that Lightning McQueen and pals are leaving smooth roads behind for some off-road excitement.

Initially announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, this expansion is revving up. It moves the Cars gang out of Radiator Springs and directly into the rough frontier.

That’s right - your favorite animated race cars are about to embrace their inner off-road warriors, and if you’ve ever wondered what Mater would look like conquering the wilderness, you’re about to find out. To make Cars-themed land a reality, Disney Imagineers went full throttle, even testing real off-road vehicles in the Arizona desert.

If their rough-riding research mission is any indication, visitors are in for an unpredictable experience. As soon as the news came out, someone (@poptruther) took to their X account and commented:

"This looks like it came straight out of a “How to Draw” book for kids, mission accomplished, I guess."

This X user quipped that the Cars-themed land ride cars look like they rolled straight out of a kid's 'How to Draw' book. And honestly, they're not far off. With bold lines and cartoon-perfect ratios, these cars look like they were drawn in crayon and then transported into the real world.

It seems Disney set out to ensure that even a five-year-old knows what these cars are, and that's some branding.

From the ride vehicles appearing to have been designed with jumbo crayons to the off-road adventure that's one pothole away from requiring roadside assistance, Disney has provided fans with lots to discuss.

Of course, the internet didn't waste any time hitting high gear with their opinions - so let's take a look at what they're saying!
