Stranger Things Season 5 is coming, but apparently not all at once. According to What's on Netflix, we’ll get this long-awaited final season sometime between October and November.

So, after almost three years of waiting, fans can finally wrap up supernatural horror, 80s nostalgia, and a bunch of kids dealing with things that should have remained locked in the Upside Down.

The release of the season is rumored to be split into two parts because showmakers think audiences love a cliffhanger. Fans were already a little salty because of the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that delayed the whole show.

Some are ready to give it another go. Others have already moved on.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) put it best: “I used to be hyped for s5 like 4 years ago."

“That show is still on?!?”, a user humorously asked.
Another user asked: “Does every final season of a show need to be split into 2 parts.”
A user added: “Its to get ppl to subscribe for an extra month.”

A user went on to show how grown the Will Byers could be after all these years:

“Will when S05 finally gets released.”
A user mentioned: “Bro just get it over with.
A comment read: “As long as we get 4 hours per episodes I'm happy.”
Another comment read: “Bet there’ll be a Netflix price hike in between parts 💀”
A user joked: “In the second part, the kids are 74 years old.”

What we know about Stranger Things Season 5 so far…

Stranger Things Season 5 is coming not because Eleven’s rocking a new look, but because Netflix officially wrapped filming. That's right, the cameras are off.

Ross Duffer, the genius behind it all, took a moment to share an Insta post. He went all-in with:

“They poured their hearts and souls into it, and we couldn’t be more proud of what they’ve accomplished”.

Now, if you're a Stranger Things fan, you know the show is doing its thing where they split the season into two parts because Netflix loves teasing us.

We got a taste of this movie in 2022 with Season 4—seven episodes in May, and then a whole two months to wait for the next two. We all had to sit there, binging memes and fan theories.

But the rumor mill is spinning. A fan account, @UpsideDownScoop, dropped the hottest scoop of 2025: Stranger Things Season 5 will officially land on November 27, 2025, on Thanksgiving.

But Netflix isn’t exactly confirming this date. These so-called updates are coming from the super-sleuths over at fan accounts who dug through code.

What is Stranger Things about?

Stranger Things is all about creepy creatures, government cover-ups, and teens who somehow manage to keep their cool while fighting monsters from another dimension.

It all starts when Will Byers, this average small-town kid from Hawkins, Indiana, just vanishes. Now, you’d think the town would maybe freak out a little. But no. Except for his friends Mike, Dustin, and Lucas, who didn’t let this slide.

They immediately set off on an amateur detective mission, but they stumble across a girl named Eleven, who’s a little more than meets the eye.

She’s got psychokinetic powers, meaning she can move things with her mind. Also, she escaped from a super shady government lab, running sketchy experiments on kids.

So, naturally, the squad forms an unlikely alliance with Eleven.

They uncover an alternate dimension called the "Upside Down," a freaky parallel universe full of literal nightmares. The most infamous of these nightmares is the Demogorgon.

As the kids try to piece things together, another villain named Vecna enters the scene.

The show is also about friendship, loyalty, and all that other stuff that makes you emotional. The gang sticks together despite all the literal world-ending forces trying to tear them apart.
