The moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived: John Cena finally confronted Cody Rhodes at the live WWE Raw event in Brussels, Belgium. Fans had been waiting agonizingly for Cena to explain his actions, and it's fair to say he didn't disappoint. The crowd at the live event certainly found its voice and added to the surreal feel of the event.

Cena, fresh off his heel turn from two weeks ago, gave a passionate promo as expected, wherein he blamed everything under the sun except himself for his actions. In classic heel fashion, he even blamed an innocent kid sitting in the front row which was hilarious to watch. Cody Rhodes arrived to much fanfare to shut him up, asking him to find the real John Cena to wrestle instead of the shell of a man he had become. Ouch!

Fans lose their minds over John Cena's return fresh off the heel turn

John Cena shocked the world at Elimination Chamber two weeks ago when he turned his back on the fans and aligned with the "Final Boss" Dwayne Johnson. After years of having a squeaky-clean image, the impact his heel turn had on the fans was seismic. The heel turn was so epic that merch sales plummeted as kids cried, and dads everywhere had to explain why their hero was now a villain.

John Cena's betrayal really had us questioning reality, as this was something no one even thought of, especially considering he's on his retirement tour. As Cena ranted on Raw, fans couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity on social media. Of course, when the Cenation leader is in the building, the 'You Can't See Me' memes aren't that far away as well:

As Cena was accusing fans of stealing his time, he also berated them for using the invisible jokes when he's out in public and mentioned that he's fed up of them. He must be fuming right now. But what can we do? The joke still rings true.

A major talking point going into the segment was if John Cena would introduce a new theme song or bring back his old The Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick to mark the momentous occasion of him turning heel for the first time. But alas, fans were left disappointed when he came out like his usual self.

"Same gear, same theme", pointed out one disappointed fan (via X / @thefogjones)

Cena instead blamed the fans for forcing him to be a role model Cena’s blame game? A masterclass in absurdity.

While most fans have turned against Cena, some are still firmly camped in Team Cena, nodding along and validating his each and every action:

"None of you sons of bitches Ever Asked me how I feel" "YOU DESERVE NOTHING" is so real tbh", affirmed one fan (via X / @JC2373573786347)

The 16-time WWE champion was visibly emotional during the segment as he blamed fans for everything that's happened. Seems like all those "Let's Go Cena", and "Cena sucks" chants finally got to him. Who knew their cheers could be so toxic?

The highlight of the show was undoubtedly taking shots at the audience, with even an innocent kid catching strays as John Cena blamed him for his actions. The poor kid was just there to have fun, he didn't need to come in the line of fire...

John really is part of the 'Break-A-Wish' foundation now. That kid is going to need therapy when he grows up!

John Cena's heel turn sent shockwaves throughout the whole world and is a testament to the fact that even the most wholesome heroes can turn heel and still sell out arenas. One fan, in particular, hilariously likened his heel persona to a substitute teacher:

Coming on to the list of things we never thought would happen this year, John Cena really got a villain arc before GTA 6. The agonizing wait for GTA 6 goes on...

John Cena’s heel turn was shocking, but his reasoning was even more absurd: he blamed the fans. John breaking up with the fans on live TV, and that too on his retirement tour, is something we never had in our Bingo Books for 2025. John Cena's latest segment on Raw was an instant classic and built up anticipation of the Road to WrestleMania perfectly.

We can't wait to see what lies in store for the Cenation Leader next!
