Hollywood Studios are now seeking YouTube to provide them with the ad revenue generated from fabricated AI trailers rather than having them removed. This is after trailers for films such as Superman and Gladiator, created with AI, went viral.

Previously, studios sought to have these videos removed, but now they seek the revenue. Deadline covered this but did not state why the studios reversed their position.

The developers of these fake AI trailers believe that their videos assist in marketing major studios' films. However, others are not of the same view, claiming these videos exploit original material and have the potential to deceive the audience.

The internet has quite different views on this issue. The users are debating that, in one way, big studios are demanding restrictions on AI and asserting that AI should not interfere with the work of creation.

On the other hand, the same studios are now searching for methods to profit from AI-generated material.

Social media has been ridiculing them, telling them that once money is added to the picture, they always turn around and alter the rules to fit their agenda.

Social media reacts as Hollywood studios are asking YouTube to redirect AI-generated ad revenue

People mocked, claiming that where money is concerned, Hollywood has no problems altering an entire script. So far, the story has been all about being against AI, but where there's money to be had, suddenly, nothing is off the table.

Other people commented on how Hollywood always has an excuse to make money, always spotting an opportunity for turning a moment into a means of generating funds.

A user @debayo_xx poked fun saying"

"hollywood: “ai bad” also hollywood: “wait nvm, where’s our cut?”."

Another user @hzjoe03 added:

"AI is good if we can profit from it” what a joke, NO ONE SHOULD PROFIT FROM AI GENERATION."

A user @IgnitionCasino went on to say:

"Hollywood knows how to make money no matter what."

Others teased the situation that, ultimately, it all depends on money. Some users uploaded funny GIFs pointing out the double standards of Hollywood.

One user @Angelica_Reed1 joked:

"so inn short: give me the money 🤑"

A user shared a GIF humorously, suggesting how Hollywood changed its stance when it comes to money.

A user @cryptonian_0 mentioned:

"Gotta love how Hollywood wants a piece of that AI pie 💰"

At the same time, SAG-AFTRA, the actors' union, has denounced this practice as a "race to the bottom," as reported by Deadline.

What the future holds for AI is unclear, but based on the situation, if it's generating enough revenue, suddenly, it doesn't appear to be an ill thing.

But the internet isn't going to let it slide that easily. Studios may try to profit from it, but they'll have to endure endless roasting. If AI is here to stay, so are the jokes!
