On the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 post-show, John Cena made a move that left everyone stunned. Following his win in the Men's Elimination Chamber match earlier on in the show, Cena had been invited to the post-show press conference, where he was supposed to comment on his win and future intentions.

However, in a melodramatic and unprecedented act, Cena just walked up to the microphone, tossed the microphone onto the table without uttering anything, and left.

Of course, this mic-drop moment echoed across the world, and the internet wasted no time turning it into a roast fest. From being a childhood favorite to what feels like a villain arc, we’ve seen it all.

At this point, there’s no choice but to sit back and enjoy the endless jokes.

One X user joked:

"He tired of being nice."

Cena’s villain origin story is officially in motion.

A user said:

"We got heel Cena before GTA VI. 😭"

Rockstar couldn't even drop a trailer before Cena flipped the switch.

One user commented:

"Bro better bring back the Doctor of thuganomics."

Ain’t no way he just walked out; he’s cooking something.

A user highlighted:

"He still got on the good guy hat and fit im crine."

Dressed like 2010 Cena but moving like 2002 Cena.

A user went on to say:

"i waited 25 minutes for Triple H to stop yapping, just for Cena to drop the mic and leave 😭😭😭"

This was the most aggressive ‘nah, I’m good’.

Meanwhile, a user said:

"He realizes we can see him right?"

Cena’s been invisible for years, but that mic drop was crystal clear.

Did John Cena turn heel? The ultimate betrayal explained

The 47-year-old wrestling legend won the Elimination Chamber match by forcing CM Punk to submit to his patented STF move.

The win ensured Cena an automatic booking in the main event of WrestleMania 41 against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The aftermath was, however, one of the biggest plot twists in recent WWE history.

Cody Rhodes went over to Cena after the match to offer a respectful handshake. That's when The Rock enters the scene, and because this timeline isn't crazy enough, rapper Travis Scott accompanies him.

The Rock attempted to poach Rhodes into some kind of mega-alliance. Rhodes said, Nah. And with that, Cena snapped.

Cena low-blowed Rhodes and then went total supervillain. He seized his title belt, a timepiece (a watch, people), and set about beating on Rhodes.

He wasn't finished, so he used Rhodes' own tie to choke him out, with Travis Scott helping out.

The Rock capped it all off by flogging Rhodes with a bespoke weightlifting belt and leaving him lying in a pile as Cena and The Rock looked down at him like the culmination of a WWE narrative nobody was expecting.

Why did John Cena betray Cody Rhodes?

Cena's retirement tour was intended to be emotional. Nostalgic. Possibly even tear-jerking.

But apparently, he chose his final act to be torching every bridge he's ever constructed.

WrestleMania 41 is his last match, and instead of playing the beloved hero, Cena is tapping into something more like an unhinged legend who won't quit.

His surprising partnership with The Rock—who is literally referred to as "The Final Boss"—has people arguing whether or not this is a master plan to win his 17th world title or if Cena just woke up and decided to pick up some violence.
