"He’s the definition of a chill guy": Kai Cenat’s Walmart meet-and-greet was too calm for the internet

Kai Cenat, one of the prominent Twitch streamers, just had one of the most unexpectedly chill fan interactions ever—at a Walmart, of all places. Instead of the usual screaming, hyperventilating, or launching into a three-minute monologue about how “bro changed my life,” this guy approached Kai with maximum calm.

Social media, meanwhile, is losing it. The way this dude was composed was unbelievable. One X (formerly Twitter) user stated:

“He’s the definition of a chill guy.”

Using the Kevin James meme, a user commented:

“Excuse me, are you Kai Cenat ?”
Another user added: “He was so chill I feel like Kai was the one that got nervous at one point😭 didn’t know how to act since homie was just a chill guy.”
A user humorously stated: “One of his first employed fans 😭😭”
A user said: “Bro finally got treated like a human for once 🤣💀”
A user suggested: “Be like that guy don't act like he is a f****** Pokemon you want to collect 😭”
A comment read: “Bro really said: Minimal effort, maximum impact.”
Another comment read: “I didnt know normal interactions were possible any more in 2025 lol.”

Kai Cenat’s interaction at Walmart

“Excuse me, are you Kai Cenat?” Yes, sir, you have correctly identified the internet’s favorite chaos merchant.

“Yes.”

Okay, here comes the excitement, right? Nope.

“I just wanted to say that I was a big fan of yours.”

Just a dude, expressing appreciation like he was mentioning the weather.

Kai responds politely:

“Thank you so much, appreciate it.”
The guy: “I just saw your clips, I thought you are pretty funny, dude.”

Like he just remembered to compliment a coworker on a nice pair of shoes.

“Thank you so much.”

He casually clarified his streaming habits.

“Like I don’t really watch that much Twitch, but from what I’ve seen out there, they’re pretty hilarious.”

Kai, now intrigued, asks:

“Really, bro? You watched Twitch though? You watch shit here and there?”
“Yeah.”

So naturally, Kai has to test his commitment.

“When was the last time you watched my stream?”

This is where most fans fumble, but not this guy.

“A couple weeks ago because I’ve been busy, I didn’t have a chance to watch.”

Kai, probably still recovering from the sheer normalcy of it all, just says, “Thank you so much.”

Then, the final request:

“Can you get a picture real quick?”
Kai obliges. “Of course.”
“I appreciate it, man.”
“Alright, bro, for sure.”

WWE Royal Rumble: Kai VS. Speed?

Walmart's encounter was not the biggest thing happening in Kai’s life. He has been officially invited to WWE’s 2025 Royal Rumble.

During WWE’s Monday Night RAW, commentator Pat McAfee extended the invitation, and Kai responded with:

“Oh yeah, I’mma be there for sure, and I’mma see you too, Speed. Let’s see what happens over there.”

In other news, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has personally extended an invitation to IShowSpeed to the forthcoming Royal Rumble.

NAACP Image Award nomination

Kai has officially secured his first-ever NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Social Media Personality of the Year.

The ceremony airs on February 22, 2025.

Controversy: The AI robot incident

Not all press is good press, though. Kai recently caught heat over a livestream where he and his friends went a little too wild with a $70,000 AI humanoid robot named Abdul.

And by “a little too wild,” we mean mocking, pushing, and even kicking the poor robot.

The internet was not amused. The clip went viral, and suddenly, discussions about the ethical treatment of AI were taking over the conversation.
