It seems like Dave Bautista is not letting go of his dream to star in the live-action adaptation of Gears of War. The WWE superstar turned Hollywood action hero has been vocal about his desire to play Marcus Fenix, the game's iconic protagonist. And now, he’s making sure Netflix hears him loud and clear.

Dave Bautista recently took to social media to push Netflix into action, urging fans to petition for the film. The actor, who has been attached to the project in fans’ minds for years, sure isn’t backing down. According to Comicbook.com, he said:

“It’s not like I’m not badgering them. Come on, Netflix. Get it together.”

The Gears of War movie was announced back in 2022 but updates have been scarce, leaving fans and apparently Dave Bautista himself frustrated.

Dave Bautista’s push for Gears of War film goes viral

Dave Bautista’s passionate plea hasn't gone unnoticed. His comments quickly spread across social media, sparking a mix of amusement, support, and, of course, memes.

The internet is not one to miss a good opportunity to poke fun, and this situation was no different. While some fans were hyped about the possibility of him finally stepping into Marcus Fenix’s boots, others had jokes. Some questioned whether Bautista would bulk up again for the role, while others pointed out that he’s a little leaner these days.

The humor only escalated from here. One fan quipped on X:

“Lol… He needs to chill out.”

Another asked:

“Is Dave going to bulk up for it, or is Marcus Fenix going to be sick in the movie?”

Ouch. Then came the brutal take:

“He’s too skinny now. That ship has sailed.”

Talk about tough love.

Of course, not all reactions were roasts. Some fans were genuinely excited, with one commenting:

“Please go forward with it. 🙏🙏🙏”

But even those optimistic voices were drowned out by the skeptical ones, with one person bluntly stating:

“Will be a mid movie tbh.”

This isn’t the first time Dave Bautista has made it clear that he wants the role. In fact, he even filmed a promotional video in 2019 for Gears 5, where he appeared in full Marcus Fenix gear. Since then, he’s been campaigning hard, but Netflix has yet to give any solid update on the movie’s progress.

Despite the jokes, many fans agree that he would be the perfect choice for the role. The combination of his deep, gravelly voice and undeniable action-hero presence makes him a natural fit. But Hollywood doesn’t always listen to fan casting, and some worry that by the time the movie actually happens, Bautista might have moved on to different projects.

For now, Dave Bautista seems determined to keep pushing until Netflix gives him an answer. Whether they listen or not, one thing is clear: He’s not letting go of this dream without a fight.

And knowing Dave Bautista, the fight will probably involve a chainsaw gun.
