Mary used to be in a relationship with Stack. She is still angry and hurt because he departed abruptly years before.

On the evening the juke joint opens, Mary becomes involved in all that goes on. Her tale turns dark when she becomes a vampire. From then on, she instigates an outbreak of violence and betrayal.
